Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

It's a decent game in the FPS genre, but it's an awful Halo game.

Piss poor customization for custom games, none for Spartan Ops, and no campaign scoring.

The Matchmaking, in it's current state is more along the lines of a twitch shooter and no where close to a competitive arena shooter as 1-3 were.

Ratings?

Campaign : 6/10 Way too linear.

Multiplayer : 7/10 It's good, but it's more like CoD than Halo, which is disheartening.

Spartan Ops : 4/10 Replayability? I didn't think so.

My thoughts:

>needs classic playlist(s)
>carbine needs a buff
>thruster pack needs a buff
>maps are not well designed
>vehicles are too damage resistant
>netcode needs a buff (lol)
>no map control/no weapons on map make me sad
>grenades nerfed too much
>sticky detonator is impractical in most situations
>too few maps
>no unscoping when getting shot/shooting at opponent
>JiP usually places you on a losing team
>I prefer 1 kill = 1 point system (opinion)
>motion tracker isn't accurate
>magnum needs 12 shot magazine, not 8
>no social playlists or official ranking system yet

pros:
>gameplay is much quicker
>no armor lock!
>default sprint
>loadouts feel like what Reach should have been
>new armor looks good
>weapons feel like they have a purpose
>JiP can also ensure you always have a full team
>loadout weapons feel like they have specific ranges
>game feels somewhat balanced despite perks/mods
>no sword blocking
>jetpack is balanced
>beam rifle, BR, and carbine are back
>new weapons
>the mantis :)

I haven't completed the campaign or played a lot of Spartan Ops, so I don't feel like I can form a valid analysis of them. Basically H4 matchmaking has plenty of flaws, but they're not necessarily in the game's mechanics (where in Reach, it was almost ALL game mechanics). A good TU would fix most of the aforementioned issues. I like the gameplay, but it does need a serious tune-up, and some new maps and playlists.

Campaign story was bit off but I thought it was good gameplay wise.

Matchmakings ok but it hasn't grabbed me like other Halo games.

There is no forge map so it is not gonna do great custom games wise so I think that's why the population is falling.

Spartan Ops is kind of the short coming it felt a bit like do this then this and then this in a confined space.

It's a 7/10 for me it's good but mainly meh.

Graphics are great. That's the only thing it had going for it. Game was worse than MW2 and 3 quality. Garbage, trash, not worth the price tag, gutter rot. Seriously, it is terrible. 1/10 Graphics don't make games.

It's an ok game. It's poor compared to the other Halo games but as a game on its own its alright I think. It looks nice, but is let down by a lot of obvious mistakes and errors (like lack of Assault, broken custom game options, instant respawn, map designs, lack of variety).

I'm glad that it wasn't terrible, but I must admit I've already stopped playing H4. Just too monotonous and samey.
