The Crimson loaf absolutely has a price tag on it: $0.00. And several thousand happy shoppers have taken said loaves to the register, had them rung up as free, said "thank you!" and have left the building.
So how does the grocer deal with this? Ban those shoppers from his store for buying at the price he advertised? Accuse them of theft? Chase them down and forcibly retrieve the loaves (assuming that this is possible)? Or just say "Oops, my bad, enjoy your free loaves folks! You're welcome!"That's perhaps true for the intial people who discovered the problem. What about the people who heard that they could get bread for free and came specifically to take advantage of it before the system could be fixed?
That's what bothers me. Obviously what I think has little bearing on other people, I just think it's interesting to discuss.He simply explains that he, like them, is merely human and made a mistake, the news of which spread like wildfire but in their case not faster than he could correct it.
