I loved it, and so did every single person i saw it with. It's great if you don't go out of your way to find problems with it.

~:O>~~

I felt like the Dark Knight didn't go over the top, yet it still had it's moments where you were completely flabbergasted at what was going on in the screen. It also pushes viewers comfort level with how the directors conceived the Joker character and how he interacts with the in-movie characters along with the viewers... so my vote is for the Dark Knight as it's subtle/over the top yet believeable, and everything is justified and comprehensive.

The Dark Knight Rises started to get into a lofty area with how it portrays the action and onset of events... but I need to watch it again to get a better idea.

IMO:

The Dark Knight>The Dark Knight Rises>Batman Begins

All three movies are pretty amazing, though.

I agree.
I still don't see what the plot holes are...

Sarcasm?
What plot holes?

There are so many that it's difficult to make a concise list, but others in this thread have done so.

-Nuclear reactors turning into a bomb is impossible, it just couldn't happen
-Bane is a pedo
-Talia wants to destroy Gotham for her father...okay, that isn't how she is in the comics but whatevs. She wants to clear out the corruption...oh wait, Batman and Gordon did that in The Dark Knight. The ceremony at the beginning is a testament to their success. She had no reason to do it except to make a plot.
-The prison was immensely stupid
-Fixing a broken back by punching it? u srs Nolan?
-Batman, a trained ninja, loses every fight he's in, even though Bane is slow and fat
-Batman straight up murders 2 guys
-How did Batman get from the prison to Gotham overnight?
-The entire police force goes underground at the same time? lolwut
-Others posted before this comment

Don't get me wrong, it's a very fun and enjoyable movie. The plot still sucked.

-There is one guy, who's kicking everybody's ass and nobody can stop him. Should this be possible?

-Bane is a pedo? Okay... well he is keen on killing, like i dunno, EVERYBODY in Gotham. But oh yeah, he's a pedo lets focus on that and list that as a reason for why this film in large is full of plot holes.

-Oh wait.... That wasn't how it was in the comic books? Wait a second. Was any of the movies how it was in the comic books? is this movie called Batman: The Comic Book Adaption No -blam!- that they're are differences from the comic book. Boo hoo. Oh no that must affect the plot therefore a plot hole. Ah I see that #logic. Nice one there Sherlock.

-The prison was immensely stupid?
Well la tee da. Ghee wheez That's another plot hole. Lemme take that up with Nolan.

-Fix a broken back by punching it? Hmmm... I'm sure I didn't see the part where there was some attempt at physical therapy. While done very crappy, I guess we should just ignore all the other injuries he should have been absolutely crippled by. It's a movie. -blam!- happens and people get back up like it never happened.

-Because Batman=Ninja, he should auto-win all his fights. Also fatman cannot beat Ninjas. It is not effective? This is one plot hole that must be exposed everybody....

-Batman straight up murders people? Yeah, I'm sure he just got fed up and shot to kill. Much like whenever he's trying to save the day, -blam!- happens. Bad people sometimes just die as a consequence in trying to save people.

-Becuz he's Batman.

-Becuz this is a movie/series where people make bad choices on a large scale. If this kinda stuff wasn't plausible then why should Batman be? Batman himself might as well be a plothole

-Cool, you got lazy and ran out of stupid reasons.

Is it fair to call you stupid based on how you think?

We all have opinions, I can respect that. But when it comes to reasons for defining X and X.

That's where it's less subjective and more objective. Plot holes shouldn't just be convenient for whenever people just don't like a movie. [I won't get you wrong, you think it's a enjoyable movie] but the way it gets played is just silly.

act as if The Dark Knight was exempt from the same weaknesses that TDKR holds.

Please, show me how TDK does this

LOL the whole -snip- to ignore the entire comment and then a highlight a sentence which you consider weak. #ignorance is bliss.

Do you honestly think there are no plot holes in your perfect Dark Knight?

I'll give you one, because I don't want to be up here all night slamming a movie I enjoy.

Just look at two-faces goddamn face. That's a very illogical visual representation of what a half burned face looks like. LOL, plot wise, should he even do half the things he did physically well, so soon such as speak normally?

But it doesn't matter at all because it's a super-hero movie and it's kept at a minimal whenever it can be and I'm not super -blam!- to make it ruin a movie for me.

The best in the series?

I almost fell asleep. Same with the one before The Dark Knight. The only movies that dragged on so much that they actually made me want to sleep.

A couple of my friends think it is. I like Batman Begins, personally.

  • 12.10.2012 7:33 PM PDT

Agree.

I personally don't think its the best in the trilogy. Only because I have never been a fan of Bane and would have liked it more if they ended the whole shabang with a diffrent villan.

The sound of iron shocks is stuck in my head, The thunder of the drums dictates
The rhythm of the falls, the number of dead's the rising of the horns, ahead
From the dawn of time to the end of days I will have to run, away
I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste of the blood on my lips, again

Ok I got a couple for you

Where the hell did Joker go after the party scene?
How the hell does an explosion go off in one room in the police station and take out everyone except the Joker?
5 dead 2 of them cops?
Why exactly can't they pin Dent's death on Joker?
Two Face is just plain impossible and the most unrealistic thing in the trilogy.
Does someone not check the engines on a boat before they evacuate people from a city threatened by a terrorist?
Faking Gordon's death is a bit of a stretch.
Why doesn't Reese just start telling everybody Bruce is Batman!
Nobody notices a bus coming out of the bank and joining the line of busses.
There is no way in hell cops would arrest someone like joker and not strip him down and wash off his make up. No alias or any record whatsoever? I don't think so.

-Batman doesn't use his cement demolishing kick until the final part of the final fight with Bane
-Day to night transition in about three minutes when Bane runs off with hostages
-Bane wanting to fulfill Ras Al Ghul's already fulfilled destiny (clearing of crime)
-Batman throwing the rope down to the prisoners
-Batman throwing the rope down to the prisoners without tying it to anything

etc.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that thought Batman Begins was the best and TDK was highlyoverrated and TDKR was the second best.

  • 01.01.2013 5:05 PM PDT

>Bruce gets a super powerful leg brace that can destroy cement with ease
>Never used in the entire film

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

You're the only human being in the known universe who thinks that the film known as "The Dark Knight Rises" was the most entertaining film in Christopher Nolan's Batman film franchise.

Such a lonely and blinkered existence.

BTW, I actually really enjoyed the movie, especially the symbolism and the whole "what it means to be a hero" themes. It's just three major problems.

1) Plot holes.

2) Batman barely gets 30 minutes of screen time in his 2 hour and 30 minute send off.

3) The final fight with Bane wasn't at night. I understand the symbolism of "a new day for Bruce" and stuff, but to me it just doesn't feel right having a Batman movie with the final scene being in the daytime.
