Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Can anybody who has a copy of Edge provide the quote where the director talks about Skyrim/TES?

All I could find from the OP's link that even mentioned Skyrim/TES (and wasn't a user comment) was
Edge:Introducing Edge 249: Dark Souls II unveiled
"We sympathise if that sort of statement concerns you, but at the same time, we can surely agree that we would all like to see Dark Souls attain as great a presence as The Elder Scrolls" - The Edge Staff
...and that wasn't even by the Dark Souls directors, just the Edge staff.

Disagree. Fromsoft didn't say anything about making it more like skyrim.

They DID say they wanted DkS II to have as much sucsess as the Elder Scrolls series, but that doesn't necessarily point to a ripoff, you're right.

Also the Director for DkS once said Skyrim was his favorite game besides DkS, so I don't see anything changing except some larger bosses because of that one dude who worked on Monster Hunter.

They didn't say that at all.

The new director said he wanted to make the game more accessible, which could be anything from input controls to the story. Kotaku then mentioned Skyrim.

Dear god learn to read.

The new director didn't directly, no. However, does he need to spell to out for you?

Correct.

Dear god learn to read.
You take this stuff personally huh?

I'm confused as to where anyone indicated it would be similar to Skyrim in any way other than its profits.
Dat back-pedalling. Just admit you were wrong.

About what? And what did I say that could be considered backpedaling?

You really need it explicitly stated "we're turning Dark Souls into Skyrim" to believe the writing on the wall? If EA said they're going after the COD audience would you need them to tell you they're going to make a wannabe COD?

Now we haven't seen any Dark Souls II footage. So, to what extent the things floating around are implemented is yet to be seen. What I will say is historically these are not good signs. Wannabe games don't do well critically or commercially. And this kinda rhetoric typically leads to a wannabe game.

When did they say they're "going after Skyrim"? They just said they want the game to be as successful as Skyrim. I'm not seeing what you're seeing I suppose.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

They just want to make a big deal out of it for the sake of making a big deal out of it.
