A festival where approximately 500,000 animals are killed A lot of people will be quick to condemn this. But is this any different than what happens to the animals that we eat?

We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.

Sounds like my kind of festival.

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

Ironic seeing as how many Hindus are vegetarian or revere certain animals such as cattle.

On the farms where they are kept? In transit to slaughter? Or in the slaughterhouses themselves? If you answer 'yes' to any of those, I'm going to chortle heartily.

I take it you've never seen where and how they raise cattle in the US.

OT: truly, it doesn't seem any less barbaric than how us North Americans mass-produce and mass-slaughter our livestock.

The method of execution seems a lot less damaging.

Bullet to the brain (or whatever) opposed to being hacked with a sword?

I know which one I'd pick.

How is this any better than the video in the OP?

You're assuming that all farms act like this. I believe you are wrong.
You're right, that link isn't much better. But most other cases, (which I know off) are indeed better.

I am not assuming ALL farms act like this, however the vast majority of livestock produced in the USA is not produced by individual farms, but vast corporate-owned industrial farms that mass produce cattle in their own filth and mass slaughter them. Watch a documentary like "Food Inc."

So not all do, just most? To be honest I don't know the law of animal farming but from what I know, (in the UK) it's quite strict on the treatment of animals. Furthermore organic farming is the best way to go if you oppose such measures.

Also there are issues with documentaries like that, they are usually over dramatised for financial gain.

Maybe it is in the UK. It certainly isn't in the States from what I've seen/read.
