I don't speak for anyone else, but here are my reasons why I found it disappointing(don't get me wrong, it's still a fun game. It's just not Halo fun in my opinion):
-The campaign is abysmal compared to the rest of the series.
-The ending. The *bleep*ing ending.
-Firefight is gone completely.
-Theater Mode is neutered.
-Spartan Ops is the only place in the game where I felt like I was playing a Halo game.
-You must be connected to Xbox Live to play Spartan Ops at all.
-Forge is still almost completely useless on most of the maps.
-The number of vehicles has been brought way down.
-The new Forerunner weapons are, for the most part, slightly changed repackagings of already-existing pieces of the sandbox. In addition to this, many weapons have been removed, reducing the actual variety.
-The campaign is a bit of a canon snarl when compared to the novels Cryptum and Primordium.
-The competitive multiplayer, while still fun and addicting, is less so than the rest of the series.
