Subject: Halo 4 Limited Edition

I got the console so I guess I'm happy with the content I got but the game is another story. I had really high hopes for campaign and it was just a hugh letdown for me.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

I didn't buy the LE because to me it looked like just a different case with a bunch of papers jammed in it.

Boy am I glad I made that choice.
My thoughts were $60 game + $25 Map Pass + $10 FOD + early access to some stuff. I was very wrong.

This.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

I'm glad I didn't bought the game at all, it looks like I didn't ruin my Halo memories after all. Halo was over for me when Bungie left it behind.

I can't say I'm mad, the box and stuff is still pretty cool. The thing that pissed me off the most was the specializations issue, they could've at least kept a couple exclusive until they release the ranks in early 2013.

So with all of these recent events I'd like to take a look at exactly what those of use who purchased the LE have actually gotten.

So there is of course Gabriel Thorne's journal, but compared to the content of Halsey's journal this is really pretty pathetic. It is more of a game manual than a journal, telling you about various weapons and of the Infinity. Palmer's messages all sound like they were written by a five year old, and that is of what I can actually read. I'm afraid I will snap the thing in half, or permanently bend a page if I open it far at all. So it looks nice on the outside I guess.

As for the "top secret briefing packet" you can only open it once, despite the DLC coming in a resealable bag of the exact same style. I wish I hadn't opened it, because the content inside is useless. It's filler and not even good filler.

I will admit, the armor diagram is actually quite cool, though the pictures of random unrelated helmets on the side slightly ruin the over all effect. Once again though, this feels like game manual content that was fancied up to be "LE content".

So now onto the DLC. At least this comes in a resealable packet, why both did not I will never know. So we have the FOD card. Sweet stuff, except I can only watch it on Waypoint streaming..? That was the worst part about the Reach Legendary video. At least give us the curtsey of an HD download, seeing as it is already on Youtube. Then the DLC card. The War Games map pass, promising 9 maps. I am pretty irritated that many got the first three for free, yet I do not have the luxury. I guess they can make up for it with the 6 specializations! Oh right...And yes, they card says 6, implying they printed them back when only 6 were created, not having the decency to reprint them correctly. Even then, there is no longer anything exclusive about them. Then we have the avatar crap and the in game emblem and armor and such. We get a skin, yet the console gets FOTUS. Never before has the console gotten an exclusive, as it is always understood that anyone getting the LE and above most like HAS a console. So that's just great.

So there is the $60 for the unfinished game, the War Games pass, which with the free DLC now technically costs $5 to me, a stream of FOD (available on YouTube in better quality), "exclusives" with no real value, and then all the fancy fluff which altogether most likely cost $10 to make.

So I paid $100 for a nice box, a metal bound game manual, and some packets. Great.

Since I bought the LE and saw how lame the extra "colors" and decals have been, and how 343 just opened up all the extra stuff to the public....upsets me greatly. Why pay the extra if its not "extra"?

How do you think those that dropped for the Legendary Edition of Reach would have felt if everyone had firing helmets?

Bottom line I did feel I got ripped off.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I only bought the LE because I liked Halo, oh lolbiggest mistake ever.

That is exactly what I was saying. Lame.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

Yeah, I tore into the Briefing Packet thinking my codes were inside. I too wish I hadn't opened it.

Guess its only fair that they release FOTUS now, since they decided to rip off all us LE owners.

Shakes Magic 8 Ball

I received my 6 specializations code after I lost the hype for the game. I was mega shafted. Paid for content that loaded half the time and received the other half later.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

While, I guess I should have seen some parallels.:

- Add cool TU. Removed anything useful from TU.

- Adds cool LE. Gives half of LE away for -blam!- free.

I have literally, so far, payed 50$ for pieces of paper and meaningless armor/ weapon skins. And those Avatar items nobody actually gives two -blam!- about. I guess I do feel a little ripped off.
