WWII in terms of casualties and destruction. Vietnam in terms of the psychological aspect of it. Dense jungles with an invisible foe that may or may not be watching you. No wonder a lot of people couldn't cope.
I don't know man, World War I had a giant phycological toll, sitting in a trench with your legs rotting half of you submerged in rain water and bomb shells tearing limbs from dozens of people a few feet to the right of you, ready to hear that whistle blow to head into german machine gun fire.Yeah, but I feel like the jungle would be scarier than a Trench. The primal fear of the unknown and all that.
Well the Trench Warfare has the threat of constant threat no matter what your doing. You could die at any moment from Bombs, mortar enemy soldiers and biological weapons. You'd also smell burnt and raw human flesh all the time. So yeah some of that could apply to Vietnam too but it's all based on perspectives.
I was agreeing to you, it's just that I'm not one to take much of anything seriously on the internet.
