Then why didn't Microsoft do something to the people who got it for free?

Because they didn't do anything wrong. This was Microsoft's fault.

I've been in this situation before.

I bought RAM and the next day it went $15 off. I payed and got what I expected.

I'm not entitled to the sale price that I missed.
There is a huge difference between the product devaluation and false advertisement.

Well then. if you think you can take on Microsoft's legal team. Go right ahead and file a lawsuit. False advertisement is illegal after all.

Its embarrassing that people are actually mad over this.
I'm sorry but when I pay money for a product because it is advertised as a deal and it is given away for free that is false advertisement.

This topic is now about "greedy companies" whose names don't include an "S" that we can change to a "$" and then feel extremely clever about our edit.

You're allowed to be mad at whatever you like. However, its just embarrassing that you are this much.

This map pack was suppose to cost what? 400 Microsoft points?

Thats like 5 dollars. Cut the loss. lifes not fair, and move on.

  • 12.10.2012 7:45 PM PDT

Well, I've been economical with the truth.

But it's true.
It really isn't. Tell me how many companies construct them selves with the thought in mind to not make money.

Then why didn't Microsoft do something to the people who got it for free?
Within a day, give them more time and something will happen. But most people already got it, they can't ask people for the 800 points, unless they block it somehow and track the people who didn't pay, which would be a big task. Most likely it'll just become free due to this mistake. They didn't mean this you know.

It's not false advertising. It is a bug. A glitch. Unintentional.

The map pack is advertised as 800 Ms points.

It is 800 MS points to buy it.

Aside from the fact that it was free for a short time.

Bv I'm entitled to my opinion and it is false advertisement when microsft says here you get this deal and save money. However give a piece of the content away for free afterwards makes the original quote misleading. Hense false advertisement prove me wrong.

Which was an unintentional glitch.

So since the Halo 2 map packs are free and I paid top dollar for them back in 2005, I should be compensated?

Do you even know what the difference between devaluation and false advertisement is?

yes I do.

So why couldnt this be a case of devaluation?

The maps are of terrible quality. Im glad they game them out for free, they really are worth nothing.

Only problem is with your statement is that it is opinion. The day of purchase is certainly not the extent of time as similar to the horrible example you gave involving halo 2 many years ago. It's false advertisement and many season pass and Le buyers should feel ripped off and rightly so. You have done nothing to rebutt my intial statement yet.

Heres a rebuttle. In the hour that you have just spend complaining, you could have worked and re-compensated yourself the precious 10 dollars.

You payed for and got what was expected.

Just because some people exploited a glitch by Microsoft, doesn't mean you are entitled to a refund.

You payed and got what was expected.

Microsoft didn't go out and sell it for 800 MS points, and secretly go around giving free to people they liked better.

Sure about five years ago when I made 10 dollars an hour. I'm sorry that you tried to rebutt my statement by bringing up opinions not actual facts. It was a nice chat. And what you just said wasn't even a rebuttal but a grab for air. Intriguing.
