Seriously. Stock price is dropping.

Windows 8 is not wanted.

Their tablets have been an epic failure. Apple still controls the tablet market ( I am not an apple "fan". I do not own any apple products )

Their windows phones have been an epic failure.

Right now their main source of income is their enterprise software, Which is also becoming irrelevant because of the failure of Windows 8

and their games and xbox division does not make nearly enough money to make up for the other things if they keep going down the drain.

And they just hit the iceberg today when they released the Halo 4 map pack for free.

Time for RIM to rise, remember Blackberry means business.

Completely agreed I'm glad I haven't invested in them. But it was to be expected to happen eventually.

The Flood is just this awesome :D

Windows 8 is great. It's just a start menu overhaul for the better. The only reason people hate it is because Gabe decided to rebel against it because the Windows shop is challenging their Steam monopoly.

I can't say the same for the other stuff besides Xbox, though.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

Actually...

I sold all my Microsoft stock ages ago.

You might like it. And that's fine. But their sales suck.

the only good piece of sales info they are using is that there have been 45,000,000 windows 8 licenses sold. Which sounds like a good thing at first.

But the thing is. Almost all of those 45,000,000 licenses were sold to PC distributors like Dell, HP, Asus etc. Windows 8 does not have 45,000,000 users.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Well acording to Steve Jobs, so is Apple

Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they're out to get you, it means you think you matter.

Totally agree. Even then, software development in M$ is barely cutting margin. I can't wait to see what the -blam!-s have to say during their quarter earnings next year.

The Wonderful LeSieg!

They're a multi-billion dollar corporation with a strong presence in at least a quarter of the world and they consistently turn a profit. I'd say they're good. They survived Vista, they can survive Windows 8, which is not nearly as dire a situation as hyperbole would like you to believe.

The history between those two is very interesting.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Funny, I just read an article to the same effect the other day.

Could be, but it's a bit early in life to think W8 is a failure . . . from what I read, XP was also slow on the uptake, and look how many people and organizations are still using it now. We'll see on that front.

They have the console market locked down fairly well for now, and assuming they can leverage that better than their competitors -- which they so far have done well versus Nintendo and Sony, just look at the various content streams available on XBL not available on PSN or the Nintendo equivalent, as well as the game exclusives -- that will likely be a growing source of revenue and clout for them.

There are some troubling signs, to be sure, but to declare the death of MS now is a bit premature, I think.

I actually like the Windows phone, but otherwise I agree.

Who cares? Sales are sales. Microsoft makes money either way.

must link Microsoft account. Adds all of email contacts into phone. No thank you.

I think people really need to stop crying and at least give Windows 8 a try, it's so much faster and better to use then Windows 7. So you get a new start screen with live tiles that can give you info without clicking anything. For those who say it's only good on tablets, well a mouse works just as well. All that Windows 8 is anyway is a much faster Windows 7 and a new start screen that you don't have to use.

Going on to Windows Phone 8, people need to give that a shot to. It's a great OS. After seeing sales pick up though, I have a feeling things will get better.

Nothing would be better than for Mac and Linux to get a better market share to break MS' monopoly, but that ain't gonna happen.

This. Once they get the money for the OS they don't or rarely get any money from the customer after that.

Lol @ all the M$ shills in this thread.

This isn't like Vista. Windows 8 is Microsoft's new image. Everything, from the OS and their webpages, to their phones and Xbox, is being based off of the failure of the new theme.

Of course it's not as bad as Vista to an extent, but this is a whole different situation.

I'm glad they're going down the -blam!-er. Steve Ballmer can die in a fire, -blam!- him.
