Makes you rethink the way you play a shooter, that's for sure.

Isn't it like a blend of CoD and Mass Effect? (CoD is probably a bad example. sorry).

Without giving away too much, it's a shooter that deals with PTSD.

If you really have to sum it up in a sentence: Yes.

It's CoD in that it's a military shooter. It's Mass Effect in that it deals with a weight and heavy issue.

But at the same time it's neither game.

I recommend checking it out if you are into single player experiences that deal with high brow concepts.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

You should rent it. Pretty good, but you probably won't play it more than once. It tries to have more of a story than your average game, and works out alright.

Hell yeah you should reconsider! Or at least rent it. I'll admit it's not a very lengthy experience. Now get out of this thread before it's spoiled for you.

Possible spoilers below:

I chose the same ending, OP.

During that one part...did you cross...the line? I held off for a bit, but then I snapped and went overboard. I thought I was going to have video game-induced PTSD after that.

It's nothing like Mass Effect.

He's talking about at the mirror. If you don't shoot, it ends there.

It's a third person shooter with good/bad moral choices. So more or less, yeah

Is it really though? When do you get a good or bad moral choice to make? The character gets lots I suppose, but it's not like in RPGs where you make choices and then outcomes are decided on those.

It's pretty much like that. You can either be a moral and good soldier or you can shoot up everyone and be an amoral badass who doesn't play by the rules.

It doesn't effect the story as much until the ending or a few select choices either.

I shot at the last second.

Well you never get the choice of being a moral and good soldier in Spec Ops arguably until the Humvees arrive at one of the endings. Other than that you just sort of watch Walker make choices. The only other one I can think of is choosing to put Riggs out of his misery or not.
