Subject: Xbox Support at it's finest - Regarding free Crimson Map Pack

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Great.

Now try again without the attitude.

The guy was an idiot. You have no idea.
I'm pretty sure the Customer Service Rep thought worse of you. I work in a call center and it's people like you that make us not want to help you.

Lol, what did you want him to do? Let you get it for free?

No. I only brought it up because it's another example of me getting scammed out of money. Not really scammed, but you know what I mean. I was there because of a ban in which I lost tons of money over, so that's why I brought it up.

Am I upset though? A little. Not as bad as the $50 GoW Season Pass that I bought that was useless because I got banned a month later. Only got one piece of DLC out of it opposed to the five or so I was suppose to get.

Why were you banned?

Modded avatar. Aka, I tried making myself look like Noob Saibot.

This is Microsoft we are talking about. They don't have a care in the world for their customers.

I lost over 500 dollars because I made my avatar black. I have every right to be acting like a 5 year old. On top of that, if they want to help you out with your so called ban, they give you the textbook response of "Head to our forums for that!", in WHICH you must have your thread approved only to be given a copy & pasted reply from other threads stating the same thing.

Trust me, I talked with Xbox Support over the phone and the guy agreed with me that getting perma-banned over this is horse-blam!-.

What part of "Don't make unauthorized modifications to your account profile or its contents" escaped you when you spent those $500?

The only right you have is to act like an idiot, one which you've so finely demonstrated with this thread.

I'm not defending Microsoft's relevant incompetence, but this is not a case worth debating.

Except for the few unlucky bastards who paid for it. None the less me and a whole lot of other people are very happy. :)

So just because it's a rule makes it right.

You must be a child judging from this statement so I'll explain this on a teenage level:

When you sign up for their service, you are agreeing to their rules (Terms of Use and Code of Conduct). The same is true for any service - commercial, private, or otherwise - especially in the case of profit being exchanged. You are unequivocally adhering to their conditions. You don't come to B.net and debate that we should be allowed to post threads in all caps because that is not your place. You are using their service and abiding by their rules until you choose not to do either, and in the case of the latter it can be met with termination.

Again, nobody is saying that Microsoft is without flaw, but you have nobody to be upset about here but yourself in regards to terminating your account. The fact that one person doing their job as they were trained stood in your way of a "deserved response" as you saw it should be a sign that you need to man up and move on. This is a completely separate issue, but you let it interfere with what would have been a legitimate inquiry otherwise.

If you don't like their rules don't use their service, but the next time you do, that $500 should be a stark reminder for you to behave yourself.

Emotional responses are to be expected, but such energy should not be devoted to fruitless endeavors. There is nothing that can come of this in your favor.

I wouldn't attribute costumer service as caring for the customer as much as I wouldn't attribute a lack of customer service as not caring for the customer. While self-control is the way to go, I can't imagine many people keeping a calm disposition when the guy sent to help you refuses to acknowledge validation, when he clearly asked for it, and got it.

Nowhere in the rules does it state I will be perma-banned. So, I expected at least a warning like offensive gamertags get. There should at least be tiers of banning. Things like colored avatar deserves a warning, but something like a modded console deserves to be perma-banned, obviously. You honestly don't think that it was too severe? To ban and take away all that content from a loyal 8 year member?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

yeah, calling people morons will really go a long way

"Some offenses warrant an immediate permanent suspension, including without limitation: hacking, modding, fraud, severe racial remarks, nudity on the Xbox LIVE Vision camera or Kinect camera, repeated creation of inappropriate gamertags or profile content, or posting viruses or URLs to viruses"

It says these terms were updated 2 years ago, but I doubt they'd have changed their policy to such a degree.

Do I think it's a bit ridiculous to perma-ban for an avatar mod? I guess so and a 2 week or month long suspension would have served as adequate response as well. It would be like perma-banning an account here for posting the aforementioned all caps title once. However, that is just my opinion of the rules they have established, and I imagine we don't exactly know the full story here, nor the history of your account. All we have to go by is the rules, your story, and their response, and it is clear that they have a strict policy against modding regardless of its nature.

If such an appeal process were to take place, the suspension would be lessened at the very least.

So you do think it's a ridiculous punishment. Thank you.

History of my account like I'm sort sort of criminal? Lol I wanted to make my avatar black so I look like Noob Saibot. Perma-ban me, I'm a threat to society and Xbox Live!

Your emotions are interfering with your ability to see reason. In time you will come to realize the hilarity of the situation, especially on your end.

In the future, it would be wiser not to burden B.net with your feeble rants and mindless conjecture. It is clear that the responses you're looking for are absent and the ones you receive instead do not turn in your favor.

Were you expecting everyone to shake fists and give the cold shoulder to Microsoft in a rebellious rally behind your cause? Don't flatter yourself. Nobody who leads an honest life is going to let this bother them, especially given the nature of this specific situation.
