Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

...why do they use the imperial system?
We use both actually.
Both metric and imperial.
So the real questions is why everyone else is too dumb to use both like us?I like how you corrected my spelling.
Also, I didn't know that. Wouldn't it be simpler to use the same system as the rest of the world? I know that in the short term it's hard to convert, but wouldn't it be easier in the long run?
I forget but there is an actual explanation, it goes kinda simply like this.
Sometime in the 60/70s a government initiative was implemented that in 20 year to convert to the metric system. But due to the sheer size of the country, and everything affected it became a more elective choice. For instance, manufacturing would have to be completely retooled, all construction tools would be useless, a total conversion for all blueprints etc. It ended up being easier to just teach conversion charts to those it was relevant to, engineers, designers, FDA and related industries. You will find on many food items both metric and imperial is represented. In terms of trade, the us converts all goods to the metric system so others don't have to deal with it.
Our cars display both MPH and KPM the majority of the time. Its a simple fact, imperial is more persistent overall, but metric is taught to all students, and conversions are relevant to all fields. I guess due to the many complete corners it would have to be converted, a complete conversion was abandoned for a combined system. The 60s is when Australia converted to metric, we had as much trouble, although we fully converted in the end, being a much, much smaller country.
Your system seems to work, however, and not being American, I really have no say in your laws and stuff, but honestly I believe that the conversion might have worked if it had been to a much longer timeframe, say, 50 years to convert.
But it's the past. Thanks for the explanation.
