Probably best not to write it in something too obscure. You'll hurt your chances if people have to download an IDE they've never heard of to test your game.
Shell is the most common scripting language on the planet.
id be wary of shell, you could easily fit something malicious in it.

You could do the same with any language. Read before you run.
not necessarily as easy, though. You get the point. I might find an online compiler for some of these.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

I'll do mine in Assembly.
That'd be like, the manliest text-based adventure ever.

Probably easier for you to post a list of approved languages.

Well, okay... What about Fortran?

You should have at least one requirement for the game so ours can be somewhat alike. Something zany, like "your text based adventure must involve a chase scene in a bulldozer" or something.

Also does Text-Based imply Console Based, or can I build a limited GUI around my Text-Based game?

OK. I'm gonna put together a short list of languages to use.

-Something people have heard of, ie java based, C based, Python, Scratch. If you use something no-one's heard of no-one is gonna vote for you.

This thing is really open ended. It might be best to stick true to the old style of text based adventure games, or you could try something new.

You can build a GUI if you wish. The idea is for the game to be judged around the actual content, however.

>_>

<_<

It's maybe just a few buttons to restart the game, save the game, look at your inventory, ect. Not even sure if C# is the best way to go about doing this, we'll see what I prototype.

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

I made a fun intro, recycled some of my old code for an interactive element. Anyone care to see it?
