Don't get too excited, Yorkie. The new law is likely to be highly restrictive, just like the laws in many other states. In other words, reserved for individuals who work in security-related or law-enforcement-related jobs, or who have employment that requires them to carry around large amounts of cash. A random college kid like you will probably not be able to carry concealed in IL.
And, honestly, thank god.I take it the IL law is "may issue" not "shall issue"?We don't know yet, of course, but I'm guessing that if they are being forced by the courts to remove the complete prohibition, they'll ease up as little as possible, and only enact a "may issue" law. Thus, you'll only be able to carry concealed if you can show good cause for employment or safety-related reasons.
And yorkie, you probably should be taking some classes on responsible gun ownership. Just sayin'...Oh, right, the courts just overturned the ban . . . I should think before I post.
Yeah, I agree with your assessment.
