Subject: CHARGED LATER for FREE Crimson Pack?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Why is your title all in caps? Knock it off, its annoying.

And there has been several confirmations that this is not the case. But even if it were, M$ is well within their rights to do so, as the price wasn't actually dropped, but a glitch caused an error. Its the same thing if an ATM accidentally gave you $200 instead of the $20 you asked for. If the bank catches on, your account will be debited.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That is what you get for being an egghead and cheating the system. You should of acted like another mindless drone and paid them $10.00 for maps that should of been shipped on the disc.

stop being cheap over 10 dollars

I already downloaded it free yesterday. And who wouldn't get something free, if they had the chance?
But you knew it wasn't supposed to be free, they messed up but they could charge you if they wanted.

What if we didn't know it wasn't free? It clearly stated 0MS points.
Because Microsoft would clearly release a WHOLE map pack for Halo game for free.

It's happened before.

Yes, here's a free food sample, but when you walk out of the store the detectors will go off, and you'll be forced to pay.

Worst analogy EVAR!

First off, im going to nip pick it cuz i have nothing else better to do.

Map pack was not a SAMPLE as you so put it. If you were to say "Heres a bag for sale of food for 0 dollars!!" then the rest of your analogy then it would have worked.

they have every right to if they do.
No, they really don't. Regardless of how much Microsoft intended to charge, the sale is a legal transaction where they agreed to give you the license to download and play the map pack and you agreed to pay them 0 Microsoft points. The deal is final and it would literally be against the law for them to charge you after the fact, so please keep your opinions out of this.

Well said.

That would be illegal so... no.

If they charge me, fine... Ill pay.

Makes no difference to me.

Getting them for free is not something to feel good/proud about. And being charged for something we expected to cost money isn't that big of a deal.

Yes, I know my username is the 330th sequel to a terrible movie. You don't have to keep telling me.

@XboxSupport on Twitter say that if you got it, it's yours. You will not be charged.

I hope so, you thieving -blam!- who basically stole $10, if it was a $10 game I'm sure you'd be charged for marketplace theft, and abusing glitches.

  • 12.11.2012 5:11 PM PDT

Please do not send me group invites.

Why does this thread need to be 2 pages of people telling OP he wont be charged?

We didn't steal anything.

MS accidentally gave it away for free.

Thats incorrect, when considering consumer laws.

Not that it matters to me, since H4 looks like trash, and I refuse to buy anything Halo related ever since Reach.

The problem is the Crimson Map pack is not a free sample... Its a bug in the system that allowed many users to download it for free. Its pretty unfair to players who purchased the LE or Season Pass as they were promised a 33% discount from all 3 map packs. Instead, they are now paying full price.

OT, they already confirmed there will be no penalty for users who downloaded the maps for free (without paying).

Hello.

Big Red confirms that this is untrue, it is Microsoft's fault and they will not charge.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Let me guess... the same people who told LE owners not to be so stingy are going to go up in arms when they are asked to pay for the maps?

Sounds about right.

I'm a thief for downloading a game at it's stated price? Ok.

Here's a good analogy someone posted before.

Imagine that a grocery store (MS) accidently labels a loaf of bread (Crimison Pack) as $0. Everyone sees this and happily buys the bread for free. After the grocery store realizes the mistake, they can't just accuse everyone who bought the bread as a thief. It's their fault, not the consumer.

No they don't. This isn't a game where they can just make up the rules. In the business world if you screw up the fault is on YOU.
