Do you agree with this statement? It probably ties into Destiny and what they are trying to achieve with the game. From what we know, it's more cooperative FPS play in an MMO-like persistent world, where you and your friends can play together etc.

But I still feel that you shouldn't underestimate the power of a single player game these days. If you watched the VGA's, you saw the top games of the decade. What did most have in common (Wind Waker, Half-Life 2, Portal, Mass Effect 2 etc. They all had outstanding gameplay and single player campaigns.

It's not always true that what is fun to do alone is better to do with your friends... Having a friend do co-op with me in Portal would ruin the experience. Same goes for Mass Effect, or Half-Life. Zelda wouldn't be the same either.

Here's hoping there isn't forced co-op or a heavy emphasis for those of us who still enjoy single-player gaming.

Co-op would be nice if it was done in the style of Borderlands 2.

I am Katsu Kage, an assassin trained in the art of stealth. I was on a recon mission when I discovered a blue box hidden among some rubble. Once I entered the blue box it had taken me to a land far away. It was strange and fantastic! There I met PatikaVoom, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She showed me this land, then returned with me to the blue box. She called it a TARDIS and seemed to know how to work it. We left together and have been on many adventures, with many more to come!

I agree, there is nothing better than an epic single player campaign! However I also like the possibility of playing that same campaign cooperatively. Single player for the serious story, coop for the fooling around fun with friends.

Fallout 3 co-op would be fantastic IMO.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

I don't fap with my friends. So no, I don't agree.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Well, I think that's kind of a blunt statement; it really does depend on the game, what rules it follows and what pace it plays in, or if given the option, how one plays it.

I am however a lot more interested in exploring various multiplayer possibilities at the moment. Playing games with friends is always fun, not something I'd like to limit my gaming to, but something I'm always interested in. Especially considering that when I look out on the gaming horizon, there doesn't seem to be any full-fledged cooperative adventures/multiplayer coming up. Lots of games with multiplayer modes, but none that allow for a singleplayer experience with friends; remains to see if that's what Desitiny is though.

Hope it is, if anyone's up for the challenge, it's Bungie.
