"I am not mad.
I am interested in freedom."

Copying the following from the last time this was posted, back in 2010, where the text was copied from the 2008 thread.

For those of you who frequented The Flood around Christmas every year, you may remember a certain phenomenon that swept this community. Something that captured the hearts and souls of everyone who witnessed it.

I am pleased to inform you that in the coming weeks, this legendary marvel will once again be upon us. That thing that made us stay up until unreasonable hours waiting for cats to appear, that thing that some of us enjoyed enough to donate money to, that thing that so many of us loved so dearly, will soon return.

I'm talking of course about the Schwippy Christmas Tree.

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll break it down for you:
The Schwippys are a family from somewhere in California that had the fantastic idea of posting a live webcam feed of their Christmas tree on their site and giving control of the lights to the people who visited the page.
Essentially, they said "Here, play with our tree and watch it change."
There's an explanation of how it works here.

But the best part about the Schwippy Tree wasn't playing with light switches, it was talking to the Schwippys in the live chat, watching them chase cats around the house, and forcing them to write things on signs and hold them up to the camera.
Yes, it was slightly creepy, but more than that, it was a damn good time. And on top of all that, they loved us.

So that's the deal. The Schwippy Christmas Tree is up and running for the 2010 season. Hopefully, starting the thread now will help contain the madness this year so that we don't overrun the forum again. If this thread still exists when it's up, I'll update this with all breaking news and pertinent information.

Also, happy holidays.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

Just Zoid being Zoid ^_^

I was in there a few weeks ago.

Then someone broke the lights...

It happens sometimes. They were working within the last hour.

I, too, am procrastinating.
