Subject: Walking Dead Game is NOT a Game

I like the "interactive movie" type games like Heavy rain, walking dead and beyond two souls. It's fun to play something different for a change.
Heavy Rain was better than TWD imo.

Don't forget all the bugs people have been experiencing and the poor customer service they've received afterwards. Or the fact that 'episodic games' are just an excuse for developers to hash out unfinished content so they can cash in on it earlier. Oh and how the whole "choice" thing just turns out to be another ME3.

Seriously, this in no way earned the award. And the list of nominees itself was trash.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

So a 'choose your own adventure' movie won game of the year. Yay.

Of course, this is all opinion. Really though, a game consisting entirely of QTE's doesn't deserve game of the year. It's an entirely scripted game, with very little free choice. At least in games like Halo and CoD you can choose where to go and what to do next. You're not exactly on a track the entire game, unlike The walking dead.

I see 45 seconds without killing something is too long for an Xbot.

Holy -blam!- -blam!-, I don't know how you typed that with a straight face, because I pointed and laughed at my monitor. I hope you felt that via TCP/IP connection.

It's an interactive movie. Hardly deserving of GoTY.

I think the VGA panel was made up of a bunch of casual gamers that don't really like or play real games.

"Mass Effect, what is this garbage it has too much detail in it!" ... "Halo 4 and Black Ops II, thats too intense for me!" ... "ahh walking dead, easy!, GOTY GOTY!!".

  • 12.11.2012 5:50 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Just mindlessly going about. Shambling around, not using your brainthinker at all because the game is leading you. Almost like a zombie. Like you are the walking dead.

Oh my God.

10/10
Bravo Telltale.

GOTY 2012

It had an awesome story. Sure, the gameplay was a bit stale, but it's really the plot that matters.

Oh nice. I wasn't aware that a book was either classified as a video-game or an RPG.

Plot = Irrelevant and unnecessary to games.
