Incomprehensible gibberish.

T4R something it brought to the genre that revolutionized it forever and ever. Something innovative would be "Scope sway", "Regenerating health", "Magnetism/Aim assist". Stuff like that.

I don't think it was innovative. I just think it was a very good game

I'm sorry but those three things that you pointed out, are they your opinion, or are they just examples?

OT: More realistic physics then most games of that time and those of modern games still.

Get the hell off my planet!

Innovation =/= Quality.

Half-Life made the Gravity Gun, yep. It was also the first PC game to have developer commentary. It also featured high-range rendering which was new at the time.... at least to that extent.

Ther're facts. The FPS genre was revolutionized by those, and while they are pretty lame examples, they're something everybody knows about/Something companys still use. There was some thing halo:CE brought to the table but I forgot what they were.

Developer commentary and HDR were not part of the original game. Lost Coast introduced both of those features in 2006.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

You're joking, right. That's not innovation, that's dumbing down the game.

If I take a rocket to the face, I should have to frantically find a medkit and heal myself, not hide behind a dumpster and wait for the strawberry jelly to clear from my eyes.

Would Left 4 Dead be as fun with regenerating health? No.

Aim assist is slightly beneficial on consoles, since you don't have that level of precision aiming. But still, it's not innovative.

The Half-life 2 engine itself.

I'm pretty sure TF2, Left 4 Dead, L4D2 and a loooot of other games were made using that engine.

CE brought the FPS to the console in an easy to play way that exceeded expectation.

Half Life 2 brought the most advanced physics engine in a game at the time and for the most part still.

There are entire games built around the source engines physics, such as Garry's Mod.

I don't like rap.

*facepalm*

Extremely good graphics for 2004.

Insane physics engine for 2004.

Furthered the awesome "no cutscene/one continuous game" style.

Okay, I wasn't sure how you were using those. Also Halo:CE was the first with Regenerating Shields (pretty much Regenerating Health), Carry limit of only two weapons, and Aim Assist.

Actually the Aim Assist was innovative for consoles because most FPS games on the consoles at that time sucked because you couldn't aim.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Graphics that blew Halo 2 out of the water.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark had massive amounts of aim assist and existed before Halo.
