Coldplay = One of the most overrated bands of all time

Coldplay = One of the most hated bands of all time.
The Flood = One of the most hopelessly extremely-opinionated places of all time.
Coldplay = Excellent.
Coldplay = Still one of the most overrated bands of all time.

Face it, Music is never a good topic to discuss here.

Totally agree with you there. Abandoning thread.

Anyway, when someone gives me a song that ISN'T a single that uses the four chords, and nothing else, then I can give the whole 'not creative thing up'.

"The four chords"? Can you show a pattern of songs using the same chords over and over again? Because I just Googled 6 various songs and none of them used the same chords, and most used more than 4.

Actually, there are some popular songs that can all be played with the same 4 (Or more Chords), just with alternating tempo.

I don't have a problem with them being "pretentious art house idiots", I just don't like they're music.

Yes, but that doesn't mean Coldplay's songs are repetitive or uncreative. I've never found the argument that using those popular 4 chords is lazy to be very compelling, since there are entire genres of music that revolve around simple 4-chord songs (for instance, punk).

Personally, I do find it somewhat lazy to keep using the same 4 chord song-structures that have previously been used time and time again. It is a little unoriginal, considering how there are literally TONS of chords that can be used in substitution of the typical "Major" or "Minor" Chord shapes.

Okay, but that isn't what Coldplay does.

I like some of their music. Their newer music isn't that great though.
