Subject: Should they give guns bloom in real life?

I was thinking that because they use bloom in Halo reach, there must be some reason that those future designers implemented it. I can't imagine why though.

Agreed they should also put in Halo 2 Commando Pro melee lunges, hitboxes, auto aim, and bullet magnetism because it is perfectly realistic and makes complete sense

TBH guns in games are inaccurate as hell

A sniper in CoD no matter how much hitscan bullcrap is probably not as accurate as a real M4 in skilled hands

Did you just compare real life sniping to video game sniping?

They don't have bloom? Crap, I must have been issued a defective weapon. Well, good thing I'm just a POG then.

Wasn't bloom just a visual representation of recoil?

it's called a windowed PMAG and iron sights or a trijicon ACOG/Aimpoint T3 micro/Eotech XPS2 in real life.

I heard it will be implemented in the next patch. It's only on test servers at the moment, but Universe plans to have it go live next week.

Yep. If games wanted to actually be realistic, the recoil should throw off your cheek weld, so you don't have the proper eye relief and your sight picture changes, at least with big bore weapons. Bloom was just stupid in Reach.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Technically, they do. The bloom effect is used to show the shooter's inaccuracy immediately after a shot is fired. So, if you had a heads up display showing you the aiming point of your weapon, immediately after you fire it should widen, as you would be less accurate for a second. Then you would regain your breath control, steady your pulse, and be ready to accurately put another round down range.

Long story short: OP is a kid who's never fired a semi automatic rifle on a target range, and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Weapons in real life already have bloom. They don't shoot perfectly straight. They just put that factor in Halo Reach and made it so that you could see it with your reticule.

What about CAA mags with windows and Aimpoint CompM2s, Comp M3s, and CompM4s? What about EOTech 552s, 557s, etc.?
