I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

When you say bring back the mechanics, you mean the Halo 2 mechanics or Halo 3 mechanics? I'm assuming this would involve general fixes to the large amounts of glitches in Halo 2 if you mean the former. Personally i'd like a remaster of the Halo 2 campaign. It had it's flaws but it's still enjoyable. If I had my creative vision fulfilled, I'd bring back the H3 mechanics without any of the stuff like bubbleshield, regen, no sweep sniping like in H2. However, if maps were to be combined from both games, there'd have to be some balancing of mechanics performed because people would obviously take issue with playing H2 maps under H3 mechanics and vice versa.
I also get the people that don't want to pay for content that is essentially old. That's fine, this is why I propose that Anniversary is really only intended for the nostalgic, or those too young to experience these games in the first place. There will still be the contingent that doesn't like CoD, or Battlefield and current 343i Halo.
This is merely an option for 343i to make a lot of money and to give FPS fans the choice to buck the trend of current shooters and re-live what was arguably the best era of console shooters (without perks, loadouts, medals for registering a kill).
Again, much like HCE:Anniversary, it's appealing to a niche audience, but it still satisfies a large thirst for a proven formula. I think it makes a lot of sense to do this on the next-gen of consoles for the purpose of "HD" graphics and having an "all-inclusive" game to enjoy in a time where innovation is lacking in many major games.
