Subject: What's so great about Reddit?

So I notice everytime we go on the computers during class, there's at least 5 people surfing on Reddit (since it's not blocked).

So I decided to check it out at home, to see what the wumbo jumbo was all about. It's just a bunch of variety pictures, memes, and oddly formatted threads with a featured picture. Okay, I admit I like surfing through the /wtf imgur pictures, but eventually I get bored.

If anything it's like a variant 9gag where you scroll down and look at funny memes, pictures, etc.

So I'm basically asking, what so great about Reddit? Like it's a main thing to do now on the internet like twitter and facebook.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

Just Zoid being Zoid ^_^

It's not so much the presentation but how versatile and open it is. Also, it's a pretty chill forum with casual humour and the occasional real answers, something the Flood fails to have at times.

Reddit isn't blocked on your school computers? I can think of some really sick subreddits. And not sick as in cool, either.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I think it's fun.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

I think I've visited the site once or twice.

I have no idea.

The organization of subreddits. So many unique niche communities. There really is something for almost everyone.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

I don't think Barracuda blocks Reddit. And Barracuda is fairly popular.

I really don't know what's so great about it to be honest.

The Flood's resident metalhead.

Subreddits allow you to interact with others of similar interests, such as r/music, r/halo, r/fitness, etc. If you're interested in something, there's a good chance there's a subreddit for it.

I just like because of al the cool info I learn about things, and the funny pics from r/funny and r/wtf.

Much better than the Flood to be honest... more interesting and wider range of topics.

Happily married to Fatal_Coin_Vest since July 1st, 2009.

Thank you, Captain K Mart.

First off, if you ever compare Reddit to 9gag again, you're gonna have a bad time. Reddit was started in 2007.

It's a site where anyone can post anything, and it's more or less a people driven voting process. All manner of information or funny jokes could get pushed to the front page. It's fresh every 4 hours or so, and always relevant. In many ways it helps keep people informed with current events, with disasters being explained or tracked on the site (I'm pretty sure the first detailed account of the Aurora shooting in Colorado was done by a victim, on Reddit). Barack Obama did an AmA (ask me anything).

And the community is awesome. Very logical, mostly pretty kind, and exceedingly funny. The highest upvoted comment trees on most any post are often quite funny.

It's a self-help tool; with so many different sub-reddits you can find info on just about any hobby or problem.

It's awesome. It's one of the best sites on the internet.

Please do not send me group invites.

I love people that try to generalize reddit by what they see on the default front page.
