That's a good idea. I like large battefields. However, Metropolis, Uprising, and The Great Journey were all quite bright.

Wow, Halo 3 sucks, your name will definetly inspire warmth among all the others, but yea, if it hasnt in a year it wont now.

Yea, I dont personally care how bright the levels are. I imagine if they take place in Africa they will be pretty bright.

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

Super Mega Awesome Champion of Legendary SANTA's Gameshow Episode 5.

Proud owner of crapdancemagee’s eyes and hands.

In that case, I think that Metropolis, Delta Halo, and Regret had pretty light, happy moods, anyway.

I'm not sure if it's true, but some rumors I've heard are that that huge thing that rises out of the ground in the Halo 3 trailer is a playable level and that the trailer is a cut-scene taken out of the game. What happens in the trailer is said to happen around the middle of the game.

I agree to topic creator.

In the making of Halo 2(like X03, Bungie has screenshots as wel), all the Forerunner installations were pitch dark and dim-lit. It really gives it a suspenseful, derelict feeling.

I agree with the thread creator. Silent cartographer was my second favourite level(Assault on the control room was my first, followed by Halo) They were large, open areas, lots of light, huge ranges. Here's the thing though. What makes the Halo levels different than the Halo2 larger levels(outskirts, metropolis, delta halo) is how much you depend on vehicles and how many vehicles there actually were. Think about it. Silent Cartographer had..no vehicles. Assault on the control room had a few ghost, banshees and one wraith(until you get to the part just pas the hunters which is like a cluster of enemies and vehicles).

You relied more on grunt tactics and had ALOT more ammo for your weapons. Halo3 should take the differences of the two games and combine them? What do you guys think?

The Silent Cartographer had three Warthogs. Echo 419 dropped off one Warthog after you cleared off the landing area, there's one flipped over Warthog that is just outside of the area that brings you to the area with the first Hunters in that level, and there's one Warthog that came from the Pelican that was carrying the Rocket Launcher.

Yeh, there were. But you didn't really depend on them, especially if you were playing alone, not coop. Halo2 had the bot support to drive them while you gun. So you only used those to get from point a to point b, quickly. Halo2 had enemy vehicles comin out everywhere, plus the human vehicles left behind for you.

Think about it, it makes a big difference.

The announcement cut-scene is 1/3 of the way through the game, Bungie said this at the very beginning and agian just recently in OXM. the level is not "playable" it's In-Game footage... meaning that it's got the same graphics as it would when you would be playing.
