A bit a tech advice would be appreciated. I really want to know how to re-install the previous version of iTunes without uninstalling and re-installing. If I uninstall, I dread the notion of having to re-figure over 100 gigs of music back into my library manually, as it's not organized. Last few times I had to re-figure my library it took DAYS!

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Why do you want to install the older version?

It's not THAT bad.

It's trivial to ask why I don't like it. I'd like to know how to re-install the previous version.

I tried that. iTunes just says it's already on the most previous version. Stupid thing.

Uninstall.
Clear Registry.
Install from the 10.7 version.
Fresh install, and yes you will have to manually put your music back.

That won't do. I want my playlists and play count conserved.

Unless you have a copy of either the iTunes Library.itl or the iTunes Library.xml file from 10.7 (or whatever version you were on before 11), you're SOL. You can't use a newer version of the library with an older version of the software.

What you see with me is what you get. I would rather be hated for what I am than loved for something that I'm not.

I am who I am, not who you want me to be. Your approval isn't needed and your opinion isn't required or desired.

I never update my iTunes.

Interface is different and more/'better' iCloud support. It's fundamentally and functionally the same as before.

I can, and I just did. On my laptop that is. I lost all of the plays on my laptop. Years worth. However, by going to music > itunes > previous library versions I successfully restored the itunes version 10.7. However I am not satisfied and am not going to make the transition like this on my desktop. I am not going through the arduous process of re-adding music and play lists. It would simply take forever. So a gigantic, universal, CAPITALIZED, -blam!- YOU ITUNES! YOU ROYALLY, UNWITTINGLY -blam!- UP MY MUSIC LIBRARY.

Well, that's because it's a previous version of the library file. If you tried to use the most recent version, you'd get an error message along the lines of "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." Unfortunately, and as you've already seen with the play count, this probably won't have your most recent settings/playlists/etc.

However I am not satisfied and am not going to make the transition like this on my desktop. I am not going through the arduous process of re-adding music and play lists. It would simply take forever. I've turned off iCloud and all is well regarding duplicates, which is the only issue I was having.

Yep seems like it.

My library transferred to iTunes 11 just fine. I can't imagine how disorganized you are if you're complaining about rebuilding a library stored in your PC.

I don't really care about my laptop, so it's no big deal. However, I can't change my desktop back to the previous version now.

Excuse me for the next couple hours. I have a yoga class...
