Subject: How did life begin?

"When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmanzy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon—and we had to share the rock!"

-Sgt. Johnson

I believe in intelligent design however I don't want to spark a religious debate so I will leave it as that.

The appendix could theoretically disprove intelligent design. We have a useless organ that sometimes ruptures resulting in extreme pain or even death. Doesn't sound very intelligently designed to me.

Appendix is useful.

And guys stop with the flame war, this thread is going to get locked. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED. Some believe in God, some in a big explosion. It doesn't matter. What someone else thinks about what happened doesn't hurt you in any way. I believe in creation, that doesn't hurt anyone else in any way and it doesn't hurt me for anyone else to believe anything different.

Everyone has their opinion, no one has ever proved how life began and every view is pretty valid until we do.

Currently studying Computer Science & Software engineering. Hope to work on mobile devices of the future! When a certain game's credits roll, look out for my name! ;)

You will -blam!- bricks when you see what game it is! =)

John Carmack created his first engine. Life began.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

The answer is pizza. Because pizza is God!

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

If the theory of Asteroids carrying life and fertilizing planets is proven right, that would be a lead, atleast it sounds more logic to me than a magic man.

That or we are an Alien project, since we see UFO's since the beginning of our existence.

I don't know, but it's weird to think that we're all here based on a series of events. Event A led to B, which led to C e.t.c which is the reason why we're here.

Any event happening at different times could have had incredibly changes to how life is today. It's these small things which change alot.

Like the German sniper killing a scientist (I forgot his name but he was an incredibly intelligent chemist) in the first world war. That one pull of the trigger could have cost us alot of scientific knowledge at that time.

Likely chemical evolution. The Miller-Urey experiment demonstrated that, at the conditions present during the early Earth, organic compounds such as amino and nucleic acids come about. Also, it is theorized that ribozymes, RNA capable of catalyzing reactions, were the first enzymes. Since RNA makes amino acids which link to make proteins, it is logical that nucleic acids, and more specifically RNA arose first.

It was nice while it lasted

It's a million times better designed anything that you can make so don't judge.
Very true. But isn't said designer supposed to be all-knowing, all-powerful, and perfect? If that is the case, there should be no errors in his designs, nor no accidents.

They are designed to run their own course. If nothing happened to them then how could you learn anything? And with all the accidents and so called space disasters and Scientists saying that a meteor will hurt Earth and make everybody scared, yet a meteor hasn't hit the Earth in like 700 million years and there are like billions of rocks hurdling towards us.

Someone never learned about the dinosaurs.....

And hell, thats only been the last MAJOR meteor strike, smaller meteors impact the Earth every year.

See the problem you have there buddy is you fail to realize that you're looking for physical evidence of an all powerful creator. That evidence does not exist in the physical world as we comprehend. An all powerful creator who created the universe and life as we know it would also have the ability to conceal his existence from us.

Then this isn't the realm of science. You cannot use preternatural phenomena to explain concepts thoroughly explained by scientific reasoning (or even lack thereof) and then turn around to insist that holding existence of said preternatural phenomena up to scientific standards is unreasonable.
