If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

There's no proof that his shields were destroyed. He'll still probably have shields in Halo 3, and recharging shields are probably one of the unique things that makes Halo Halo.

In the trailer he has beaten up armour....? This means he may have been through a bit of a battle and had his sheilds knocked down and bean beaten around a little yea?

This gives 2 things... Damage is going to be lasting insead of just recharging
and that that scene could be part of the fine cut scene because it looks like he has already been through hell (in which case it that is the ark) the halos activate.
No..it's 1/3 through the game. If it's truely level 9 of the game

(The Ark concept art reads : "Earth_Ark_09")..we've got a lot fo missions to play.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

* The trailer is 1/3rd through the game.
* The damaged armour is to show how he has been in many battles.
* The fact the armour has damage means nothing at this point in respect to gameplay or anything else. It was probably included to show the details and capabilities the X360 can reach.
* There is no basis for the health system, in Halo 2 his armour clearly had damage but the health system was removed. This point is irrelavant.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

if 1/3 through the game is level 9 (supposedly) then, wow theres going to be alot of levels...

27 levels probable longer than halo 2s. We are in for a great game

Don't bet on it. We were told by Bungie that Halo 2's fifteen levels would be "many times the size of Assault on the Control Room". Completely false, there are limits to what will fit on a disc and run on a system.

The limit was not on the disc, it was Xbox's capabilities and Bungie's timeline.

IF the trailer is giving small clue to gameplay one could say that the Cliff crumbling from the shockwave means destructable environments are in.

think about it... the Chief has been through Halo 2 and now 1/3 of the way into halo 3 when the trailer takes place... of course he looks beaten up, you think he's gonna go and polish his armor after every battle?

I'm saying for Halo 3. You can't put 100 levels that take 10 hours each in Halo 3 because the hardware won't be able to handle it. Disc, console or otherwise.

The only thing I could imagine would be a HD DVD but Microsoft already said they wouldn't be using the external drive for games, only HD DVD movies.

As for the copying of files to the HDD, I would think Bungie would prefer the game to be playable for those with Core systems aswell as Premiums.

The name of the Concept art means little.
T.T

Except for the fact that it's their way of interpreting the story from the Halo bible (which the books and games run off of) into the limitations and levels of the game..as well as figuring out how to draw up and animate something that has previously only been written in words.

it was a teaser movie. Theres a chance nothing in there could be in the game.

I hope it actually shows armor damage, that would be neat... but that probably is not the final cut scene.

Common sense definitely cannot be learned. Don't take ANY kind of gameplay aspects from a trailer designed SPECIFICALLY to be a "teaser trailser". More than likely, anything you could try to put into a gameplay aspect, is not going to make it to the final game. Or, it will change. My point is wait for more concrete info from Bungie, before you use a teaser trailer, as proof for what will be in the game.

To be so confident in your correctness to put semi-spoilers in the thread title makes you look really bad when your post is read because it is just so stupid.

He's also in a desert. That means his armor could get a little dirty.

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

In the behind the scenes they said words to this effect:

'The cheif has been through a horrific battle. And this time around, we are actually showing that on the chiefs armour.'

So, i would guess, that as you play your armour would accumulate cosmetic clues of the damage you have taken. Though, the extent and accuracy of this damage modelling hasn't been revealed.
