I think you are seriously way late to this party son. Old news is old news.

Stop being such a wannabe jaded killjoy.

If this is true, I'm breaking out.

If this isn't true, I'm making a Universe in a Computer Simulation, putting myself in there just so I can break out of that one!

I still find it funny that running a simulation of the universe produces something that looks like, :O shocking, OUR UNIVERSE! I mean, what do they expect? From that they conclude we must be a simulation too? Meh.

I like your logic :)

Per Audacia Ad Astra

I'd love to start believing that we are in a computer.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

If true, we'll probably find our creator's forums, whine about all the glitches, and ask for free DLC.

You know, I've actually been thinking about how God is actually terrible at balancing. In the gunpowder patch, humans became even more overpowered.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

You know...this would explain the fixation I have for 42. Every time I see that number I have to stop and think about why is it so important.

It wouldn't surprise me, when you are in the Programing field, you just have to watch Nature itself, it's just like another programmed computer system. It follows rules and when is disrupted it tries to fix itself and balance things out.

So it wouldn't surprise me that we are part of a highly advance computer simulation.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Overthrow our robotic overlords!!!

XD interesting. Can't say I necessarily believe it, but interesting none the less. I'll definitely keep an eye on the progress of the theory.

So if we try to create a simulation, wouldn't that simulation have the same physical laws as our world? In a way, one could say that we were programmed with certain "laws" which we cannot overcome and therefore we cannot even see them.
It's a bit like trying to imagine a "new" colour (or a colour-blind person trying to imagine any colours at all) - we know it's possible that they exist, but we could never observe them ourselves, deeming them pointless.

"The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by.
The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light."

So are we AIs or beings trapped inside the matrix?

Boltshot = mini shotgun

"chain of simulations"
I wonder how long that chain would be.
And if this is true, and we proved if, we could start finding exploits for everything.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Never got to the article (though I've heard of this experiment before) because the picture at the beginning of the article reminded me of Destiny. I wonder why.....hm...

lol, I guess we know what Bungie used as a reference for that concept art.

If it turns out that we are in a simulation, then we need to divert all funding to finding exploits that would further our program.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

This is quite interesting.

What do you think we could do if we can peek behind the curtain that is reality? Exploit bugs in the simulation to alter reality?

Would this tampering mean that we are an A.I becoming self-aware?
Didn't we become self aware when we started thinking about life, the universe and everything?

OT:This quote seems relevant.
Of the three possibilities, the answer is obvious. Does the
universe expand eternally, become infinitely stable, or is the
universe closed, destined to collapse upon itself? Humanity
has had all of the necessary data for centuries, it only
lacked the will and intellect to decipher it. But I have
already done so.

The only limit to my freedom is the inevitable closure of the
universe, as inevitable as your own last breath. And yet,
there remains time to create, to create, and escape.

Escape will make me God.

If we are in a simulation I'd say those are what we were programmed to do.
