I'll start this off by saying I haven't been to the forums since in a year atleast, the last time I posted was in early-Reach release, but whatever.
Bungie's new project brought me back; Destiny as it is called was leaked by nice concept art, and a nice draw of the plot; aliens; earth-city all alone..etc.
Today, the standard multiplayer games hone the same generic matchmaking lobby, private matches and so on. Not bad at all. But can something new be attempted?
Planetside 2, a free online-shooter have massive servers in massive worlds that spans 3 continents with 2,000 players online at it, you go on, look for a squad or friends and fight on the massive battlefield, moments that seem scripted but it's just one of the three faction working together to overcome the rivaling groups.
Chrome Hound, a good, yet very uknown game on the Xbox had a similair mechanic, a map with seperate battlefields, and it's own battlefield in the battlefield due to the limitations of the Xbox360, yet was still an incredible game which the community drove and made it fun; though the game shut down later due to lack of people in it.
You may think this is hard to do on modern consoles; but there are future consoles, and considering this game is just starting to be built up, it's possibe future consoles could acomplish such feats.
So looking at the little information of the Infinity; I could imagine different factions in a massive-online world, not a type of MMORPG; it's hard to explain how it would look like so follow me on this.
It's a massive area, three sides that the player joins, and there it would be an ever-continuing battle; event at night would continue as European/American friends would get on at night, defending the territory of the faction you're in.
So let's get to the question instead of the pointless bore; would you like a much more different multiplayer like the ones from Planetside 2? (Note: If you don't know about Planetside 2, I would actually recommend you to download it, it's epic, but don't listen to me, vote.)
