half of that is subjective. Jesus Christ Flood. The majority opinion on Bnet or Waypoint is not the majority opinion, either.

Of course half of that is subjective, thanks for pointing out the obvious. They're opinions but valid opinions that aren't unreasonable and have at least a sliver of logic behind them.

Some of these points are not opinion though. Forge is broken, Custom Games are broken, there is no classic CTF or Assault, weapons do despawn too quickly, there are no regular ammo spawns, pre-game lobby is clumsy to use.

Just watch the Halo Council thanksgiving roast. It spells out clearly a lot of the issues, both objective and subjective issues.

tldr; 343i shipped Halo 4 half finished. If someone shipped a half finished TV you wouldn't buy it. Why are you putting up with this?

I'm not, the game I'm currently playing is GTA 4.

Only some of those line up with OP's analogy of getting a broken TV. The others are subjective.

Even then, a video game is not a TV. A video game is infinitely more complex. Which is why I'm tolerant of buggy games.

You are right. I just get carried away when my boundless rage takes control when thinking about Halo 4.

So many obvious mistakes. So easy to avoid.

If people have an issue with Halo 4, then by all means post it here, but if you expect to have any action done, go to 343.

Hmmm.... I'd love to agree with you but with Waypoint they've made it perfectly clear that they want no interaction with their own community. Frankie posts more on Neogaf than his own company website, despite all the pleas for feedback on issues.

That too entered my mind as I said what I said. I thought about the mods and stories I've heard from 343, so that may not even be a valid option.

I don't blame him to be honest, Halo has one of the most loathesome communities out there. Both this site and Waypoint are infested with some of the most one-dimensional, close-minded idiots I've ever seen.

None.

I am not putting up with it, I share one copy of Halo 4 with my brother and I recently bought Battlefield 3 premium.

Yeah I don't blame Frankie for not wanting to get in there, Waypoint can be pretty full-on I guess. It would be nice if there was some sort of feedback though, if not from Frankie then from someone else at 343.

Just dip their toes in.

Well the thing is that 343 doesn't have much control over the site, though. They're the puppet being played by the ventriloquist (MS).

Join the Halo Haven group!

I've stopped defending it until we get some serious changes to:
Forge - Maps, Tools, physics.
Matchmaking - weapon balancing, slower kill times, less instaspawn, less broken playlists.

None of these things are ever going to happen, and I can't see myself playing this game much any more.

The games is still fun to play. People like me just dont like how they changed every single thing just for the sake of changing.

Honestly, Eagle, I'm getting tired of your monotonous hate for Halo 4 and 343i. We get it. You don't like Halo 4 and 343i.

The problem is that your arguments don't have any backbone. What is it exactly about Halo 4's multiplayer and campaign that makes them half finished? Even though the desires left in Halo 4's Forge and Customs are inexcusable, how is this disappointment drastically different from the disappointments with the same parts of the game found in Reach? Why is it that when Bungie says, "We make games we want to play," that's okay but if 343i has taken their own artistic direction with the Universe it's inexcusable.

And mistake my argument; I don't agree with some of the elements 343i has introduced. But I attack those elements with the argument that they are, in my opinion, bad for the Universe, not under the basis that 343i has taken artistic license for a franchise they develop for.

Also, why do you insist on bringing up straw man arguments? There are valid complaints about Halo 4, but deconstructing the argument "It's their game; they can do whatever they want with it" is pointless since that's hardly a valid argument to begin with as it can be used to discredit criticism on anything.

It has become clear that your gripe is with 343i's ownership of Halo rather than what they have objectively done with Halo considering your hypocritical arguments brought up in numerous threads ever since November 6.

I do find it strange how many people can so passionately defend an incomplete and broken product. And particularly how none of the major gaming blogs have noticed it.

This is the self-righteous attitude that bugs me. You keep claiming that Halo 4 is a broken product but you don't have any tenable arguments to the point.

  • 12.12.2012 2:45 PM PDT

So you went to the trouble of clicking on my profile, either to send a group invite or hate message, or to check my Halo stats and call me a BK. I like Peanut Butter Waffles.

Enough with these threads. If you care so much about pointing out the wrong, why not stop playing? Better yet, go to Waypoint.

What are you talking about?? There are many arguments that support this attitude.

-Broken Forge
-Broken Custom Game options
-No Assault, no classic CTF, no customizable Infection
-Weapon despawn times
-No ammo on maps
-Pre-game lobby is unintuitive
-Pre-game lobby is hard to use in a party

And these are just the things that can be proven. The matters of opinion regarding JIP, instant respawn, map designs, weapon balance, ordinance drops and AAs, specs, perks, mods and all that jazz is another matter altogether.

The thing I don't get about people like you Plasma is that you talk about people who dislike the game as if they have no merit in their arguments. There is plenty of merit, and plenty of evidence.

I mean.... of that list I just provided to you do you honestly think they're acceptable?

The H4 Campaign was good I think yeah. Not great, but definitely good. There are some elements in there that I disliked quite a lot, particularly the QTEs, but I really loved seeing the Chief again.

I only saw 2 QTE's, it isn't that bad.
