I do find it strange how many people can so passionately defend an incomplete and broken product. And particularly how none of the major gaming blogs have noticed it.
This is the self-righteous attitude that bugs me. You keep claiming that Halo 4 is a broken product but you don't have any tenable arguments to the point.
What are you talking about?? There are many arguments that support this attitude.
-Broken Forge
-Broken Custom Game options
-No Assault, no classic CTF, no customizable Infection
-Weapon despawn times
-No ammo on maps
-Pre-game lobby is unintuitive
-Pre-game lobby is hard to use in a party
And these are just the things that can be proven. The matters of opinion regarding JIP, instant respawn, map designs, weapon balance, ordinance drops and AAs, specs, perks, mods and all that jazz is another matter altogether.
The thing I don't get about people like you Plasma is that you talk about people who dislike the game as if they have no merit in their arguments. There is plenty of merit, and plenty of evidence.
I mean.... of that list I just provided to you do you honestly think they're acceptable?
1) The Forge isn't "broken," it is missing precision editing. I agree this is a major detraction, but using hyperbole to make your point doesn't speak well for your case.
2) See above
3) Again, all of which are inexcusable, but hardly different from the detractions Bungie made with Reach's customs. It is hypocritical to point this out without simultaneously being critical of Reach.
4) Haven't experienced problems with weapon despawns first hand.
5) No ammo on maps hardly constitutes a major flaw.
6) Your opinion (I disagree)
7) Your opinion (I disagree)
4-7 aren't game breaking problems. 6-7 are opinions based on your preferences. I liked the feel of Reach's UI better as well, but I would not say that Halo 4's UI is unusable or abstruse.
You see, flamer, I am not disputing that there are problems with Halo 4. As with any title, including past Halos, there are issues and some of them are not excusable. Where I fundamentally disagree with you and Eagle is here:
1. The problems with Halo 4 are game breaking flaws.
2. The problems with Halo 4 are unprecedented in the evolution of the Halo franchise, especially when one considers Halo: Reach.
That's it. Criticize the game for its flaws and offer feedback to 343i so the game can improve, but don't start invoking 343i's intrinsic inferiority when that is completely based on a biased perspective to begin with.
