Could a halo be under the surface of earth? I mean why would the covenant be so interested in earth. Because they said that earth is the ark so it could happen. Just a guess though.

erm... Halo is supposedly the Ark... Bungie wouldn't Break their Preciaous "7" number and stick another ring under the earth... besides... a huge freaking ring under the earth's crust, in real life, wouldn't work... it would be destroyed in the shifting of the tectonic Plates.

This is the forerunners we are talking about dude. If they can make huge rings they can easily put a ring under earth with ease.

i doubt a halo is under the earth very much, why would they do that if there was already sufficient force from the other halos to do the work?

Maybe its mini-ring..

  • 07.04.2006 7:55 PM PDT

okay but wouldnt we have noticed? wouldnt it be easy to see/detect in the ocean?

EDIT: i dont believe for one second there is a halo under the earth. i do believe the ark is on earth though.

the halo under the earth could be making the plates move? we wouldnt be able to detect a halo under earth if the metal can not be picked up by anything

there wouldnt be one.

why, if the forerunners were coming to earth after the halos were activated, would they build a halo to study and contain the flood, if they had just activated the halos to get away from them??

i agree wholeheartedly, especially about it being seen in the ocean

LoL, why would the foreunner go thru all the trouble of building a ring under earth? it just seems a tedious and comedic process to me for some reason

it would be a cool twist, but i just dont believe it

nice sig by the way :-)

it would be pretty dumb to put a halo in earth beacause normally an the inside of a halo you can walk around in deserts and snow things and the whole climate rizzrazz, now that wouldn't be possible if a halo would be in a planet (and it would be quite some digging work too).

No!

I am not going to explain it, instead I will give you the parts you need to logically figure out why that wouldn't be so.

First: What were halos for why were they built?

Second: What is on the inside of the rings?

Third: What would be the point of filling the inside of the ring be?

lol what if it was like that Spongebob episode where Sponge and Squid thought they were lost in the desert but weren't far from home after all. Maby the 1st halo was around Jupiter. It WAS a blind jump after all

I am sure if it were around jupiter the humans, which have explored the far reaches of space, would have picked that up on their way out of the galaxy. As to the ring under the earth, by examining pictures the object in the trailer definately closely resembles a halo, and as to how it got there, there is a theory circulating that the forerunners used a slipspace rupture to transport the ring inside the earth, much like how when the covenent ship jumped all that stuff was brought with it.

If you wanted to know how it resembled a halo, all you needed to do was ask, instead of a vain attempt at humor.

It wasn't an attempt at humor. Again, why would you (knowing what the Halo's were built for) burry an entire halo?

The Earth mean circumference is 40,041.47 km and the the back of it is relatively close to the surface. Why would you off-sett a halo by 30,041.47 Kilometers. That would, you know, upset the spin of the earth as we know it.
