-Promethean guns sans Suppressor have the least amount of that. But the UNSC guns are broken.
Only the Battle Rifle. Unless it's an absolute lock-on, auto aim is okay for automatic weapons (in fact somewhat better given the way automatic weapons are placed in the series' sandbox). And even that isn't near the auto aim for Halo 2. Plus the hitboxes in Halo 4 are a few thousand times smaller, regardless of auto aim.
-which makes meleeing an unpleasant and often unreliable option.
CE melees were pretty much the same although less powerful. I prefer this system (though I would still like melee damage to be nerfed back to CE/2 style). One qualm that I've had with all the Halo games (aside from Halo 3) is that melees don't provide adequate stopping power (i.e. meleeing unshielded enemies though I'm sure you're familiar with this term, SG). I think that Halo 4's melee lunge + Halo CE's damage and stopping power would be perfect.
-trying to integrate story into gameplay... not even Reach dared to do something so vile
I agree- story should have been told purely through cutscenes. Scripted events are just tedious. But that doesn't detract from Halo 4's writing quality.
-art style = win
graphics = distracting
lighting = I wouldn't have a problem with it if I had a flashlight
prioritization = fail (weapons disappear too quickly)
HUD, seeing my helmet = distracting and hard to see in bright lighting
Meh. After playing through Crysis 2 multiple times you could practically shine the sun in my eyes and have me stare it down.
