Subject: Does school have a skill gap?

I don't know about you, but back in my high school days, the teachers would slow down class for those filthy casuals who were slow to learn. The students who actually had a functional brain had to suffer from the stagnant education they were receiving, even in AP classes.

So does school have a skill gap, or is it becoming catered to lolBadKids so they can get on the same level as the kids with brains

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

It's being catered to casuals here in Ameriku

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

People who don't put hours into homework and study each night, eventually drop to Ordinary Level, or even lower and get left behind. Of course there's a skill gap.

...op, that is the single most annoying way to put that you could have though of.

OT: No.

@spaboolly

I find your presentation to be crass and a little arrogant, but your observation is a valid one in my experience.

In each subject, my high school offered at least 3 classes below the standard level, and only 1 honors/AP track. If they offered one at all. I actually ran out of classes to take, and had to fill up my last semester with random electives. And I was only there for 3 and a half years rather than 4.

Overall, I think it has become an unfortunate trend for public education to cater to the underachieving, which does sometimes also mean holding back those who could achieve more.

  • 12.12.2012 6:39 PM PDT

Yeah, I'm tired of all those 12 year old BKs slowing us down.

  • 12.12.2012 6:39 PM PDT

Seriously, though. I am tired of teachers dumbing down the curriculum to cater to students who are just bad. It's just like everything is spoon-fed into children so they do not have to think for themselves and apply prior knowledge to learning by themselves.

APUSH homework needs to be nerfed.

My Chemistry teacher needs a MAJOR nerf, he is way too OP for assigning us a lot of homework the week before exams -___-

Ever since they started catering to the BKs the ones who actually tried such as myself have taken off. It's not even fair any more.

Is anyone subscribed to High School: ELITE ?

I heard the next Extra Credit Pack is being released soon, not completely sure though.

  • 12.12.2012 6:44 PM PDT

High school was too easy, and I am afraid it is only getting easier for the current students. My brother, who is a Academic Bowl Pro and a 50 in school, is barely trying and still getting huge positive bombs on his grade. He says his school practically gives him everything he needs to know in front of him, and he doesn't have to do anything other than memorize.
