If you had an electron microscope, you still couldn't find the -blam!- I don't give.

Not sure if cOLD but why is it that there is nobody in the big news networks (the ones in tv) converting this??? I only saw this on FOX, but my god, the Huffington Post is covering it the same(ish) way, and their not known for liking Fox!

Who is Steven Crowder?

Why are the unions protesting?

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

well that escalated quickly

I am assuming direct control.

The unions were protesting the fact that MI passed "right-to-work" laws. Advocates had set up tents and protestors eventually started getting violent. Crowder was outside a tent trying to prevent people from tearing it down as there were women and elderly inside of it. He had his hands in the air and was peacefully asking (Clearly visible in the video) for them to stop. Eventually a man hits him, and several others start attacking him as well (Several hits were from behind as he wasn't looking) before he fled the scene. IIRC he is a MMA enthusiast and could've kicked their asses but was more fearful for his life (Someone started yelling they were going to shoot him, audible on the recorded video).

Sometimes it makes me sad these people are alive.

1.Im sure some of those people are there just to support the idea of unions but fail to realize unions have changed for the worse over the years. At one time unions in America were extremely important. At one time I recall hearing a saying, "Not being a part of a union is unamerican."

2. That means union heads will be getting less money. If everyone can get a job without having to pay into a union than that means less money for those in a union.

TLDR: Culture and money.

The Wonderful LeSieg!

Yeah, it's tense in Michigan today. But please don't think this is how all Union people are.

Also while Mr. Chowder did act peacefully on camera, keep in mind the magic power of editing. On a day like today, nothing recorded is probably in the most objective light, right or left.

I remember a couple of years ago I was in the capital building in Lansing when people were protesting education cuts and they stormed the capital and pushed past all the guards and filled up like the first three levels and they were all chanting. That was crazy.

So that's why the unions were protesting?

Passage of laws that would allow people to work without joining a union and paying it's dues?

  • 12.12.2012 7:12 PM PDT

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

They were protesting "right to work" laws.

Basically they were protesting the right for people to choose whether they join a union at their jobs, and if they do join, whether they have to pay union dues. Ironic how people who hate "corporate greed", are trying to force people to pay up cash to give union leaders more $$$.

Steven is a funny and nice guy, ticks me off that one of those animals would mess with him, hope he presses charges. What isn't shown is that the tent is collapsed with people still inside it, what a nice progressive protest.

Well only idiots would believe that this represents the rank and file union worker. That being said I asked why NBC, ABC, and CNN would not cover this violent outbreak. I'm not surprised the msnbc didn't cover it, you have to go to NK to get a more pro government new channel.

  • 12.12.2012 7:29 PM PDT

I always find that the best way to get people to agree with my opinion is to beat them up, especially if I take a cheap ass shot at them in the middle of a crowd of people that already agree with me. Sarcasm aside, the guy that punched Steven was an -blam!- that only managed to piss people off and worry a man's family. Wonder if he realizes that this little stunt of his has only turned more people against him and his cause :/

Why are the unions protesting?

Many people were there to protest the way the bill was pushed through, but that goes into politics so I don't want to discuss it here. I'll just say it wasn't very democratic.

Not that I necessarily disagree with you but a counter-point to that argument is Joe Scarborough. Of course, he might as well be a giant weeble-wobble with an annoying scarf, but he still isn't very prObama.

I see no reason why he should have gone out their to ask people about the law itself. If he went out just to tell them to leave them alone, that would be ok.

He went to the protest to ask about the law, but in the videos he stepped of the tent to stop them from tearing down the tent and told the people that were tearing it down that their were "women and elderly people" taking cover in the tent.

lolunions. If you ask me they're a bunch of spoiled 2 year olds holding their breath in the grocery store so they can get that chocolate bar. Don't like the conditions? Start your own company.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

> Heavily edited video
> Shows the subject asking a calm question and receiving (relatively) calm answers
> Immediately cuts to completely different group of people in a different location punching the subject with no apparent context
> Cuts again to another group of people punching the subject, again with no apparent context
> Video shows no other context or background
> Subject works for Fox News, well known for sensationalist and heavily biased reporting

seems legit

Watch the 3rd video it shows what he was doing around the 1:30 mark

I'm sorry what video were you watching because in all 3 I saw him walking back to the tent after the first fight, and then grab by the collar and thrown back to the crowd

The first 2 have accompany articles that explain it, the third one has it in the video

he does not work for fox news, here a comedian that some times does some freelance reporting in his free time
