Subject: What would happen if the USSR won the Cold War?

What would the world be like today? Would the United States even still exist? Would communism rule the entire world, or just most of it, or would it even still be around? What about Europe, would the entire continent be united under communist rule?

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

If they had won, then I have a feeling the world would be in nuclear winter.

There was no "war". Just tension between the US and USSR. There was no winner.

Why do you think we would be in nuclear winter right now?

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

A better question would be what if America won?

Because the only way they could truly "beat" us would be to nuke us IMO. And of course we would nuke back.

Mreh.

It wasn't much of war, more like a series of tensions with Russia. Not like you can win those.

Mostly just this. There are other explanations for it as well, but instability is really the main reason the Cold War ending the way it did was a foregone conclusion.

There was no direct fighting between the US and USSR, however there were "brushfire wars" such as Korea and Vietnam which served to inconvenience the Soviets hope of a communist revolution. As we can see, those conflicts didn't work out so well.

That's all I have to say about that.

No one wins at Thermonuclear war. The only winning move, is not to play.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Considering the question suggests that the US won the cold war and how the USSR lost, I guess that'd mean that the US would no longer be a capitalist country, and the world post year 1991 would be a slightly different place.

Because of the nature of the collapse of the USSR, specifically how it wasn't a violent revolution, I suspect that not much would change, globally. The remainder of the modernized world wouldn't likely be directly effected by this change because the fall of capitalism wouldn't automatically mean the rise of communism - it would just mean capitalism failed.

I suspect if the US lost the cold war the way the USSR did, we'd end up with something very similar to what we have now, but far more socialist in nature, considering what we've developed since 1991. That evolution theory is just a wild guess, though. It's impossible to tell.

Spam is okay, as long as it is not excessive.
Retardation is frowned upon, but somewhat acceptable.

If you mean the US had fragmented / fallen off the world stage as the USSR did, then I'd imagine Western Europe becoming another bloc of satellites like Eastern Europe. Eventually the USSR (Now including most or all of Western Europe) would probably fragment anyways, due to it's inherent instability only being worsened by adding hostile countries to a buffer zone that no longer is needed...

Or perhaps Western Europe would be spared, their borders would remain largely the same, and the USSR's view would shift to China (as they were on the brink of war with China multiple times in actuality). China and the USSR would probably end up fighting around Manchuria / Mongolia, and possibly some areas of Central Asia depending on who was able to gain the upper hand.
