It's cool that you like certain weapons spawning at set times and places, but me, personally, I like my bullets shooting where my reticle is. I like being able to move and jump. I like a sandbox where any weapon has uses (Reach was actually the only Halo to not have that). I also like the lack of a grey abyss, personally.

Please never reply to me again.

Someone's mad.

Incredibly >:(.

I'm almost smashing my keyboard against my desk.

Ahh that rage is building inside.

Wow I just can't handle it anymore.

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I do not like either!

Halo 3 is the best and there really should have been an option for that in your poll, OP. Why do I consider it the best? There are no unbalanced elements, unlike Halo: Reach and Halo 4. I enjoy winning my battles through skill, not luck.

Hi.

Because how much you post in FT has to do with anything. My goodness...

Referring to Halo 3 or Halo 4? You do it in both.

Halo 4.

Hi.

Halo 4 and Halo 3 did it to add immersion and pace the story, while Reach did it to awkwardly transition because it was to only way to due to the retarded "boots in the mud" theme of the cinematics, rather than, well, cinematic cinematics.

You push about as many buttons in Halo 4 as you do in Halo 3, and, like in Halo 3, when you push the buttons in Halo 4 interesting and important things actually happen.

inb4 hipster "Halo 3 was also bad"

One of the missions in Halo 4 you had to press 10 buttons. Most of them 6 or 7. If you think that is the same amount as Halo 3 then sure go ahead and think that. I am tired of talking to fanboys.

Lemme see...
Sierra 117: Press button to free Johnson.
Crow's Nest: Press buttons to open several doors, to activate the elevator and go back trough the whole level to press a button to fuse the bomb, then go again to the hangar to press another button to activate another elevator.
The Storm: Press buttons to open more doors.
The Covenant: Press a button to activate the elevator to deactivate the first tower, repeat same process with third tower, press button to deactivate the Citadel, and press another button to show massive ring-thingy.

I think I'm missing a bunch of other button-pressing occasions.

I'm going to take the Reach crap out because, well Reach is crap.

Halo 4 did not do it to add immersion or pace to the story. The section I referenced use it as a way to artifically extend an already incredibly short campaign.

All those buttons did was unlock another button you had already visited.

Using hyperboles don't certainly help your case.

The length of certain encounters and down-time is what makes up the pacing of the campaign. Altering it through scripted events caused by player input is altering the pace of the game...

I'm not saying Halo 4 is perfect, but it still houses what is recognizably a Halo campaign, unlike Reach.

it's just me against the world

Halo 4
-More interesting campaign than reach IMO
-Multiplayer is slightly faster paced than reach's
-No Armor lock in Halo 4 (even with TU, and hardlight shield is a joke spiritual successor)
-Active camo's radar jammer no longer shows your decoys as enemies on radar in Halo 4
-Needler for once in it's lifetime actually becomes a power weapon in Halo 4 (reach needler was alright at best)
-Jetpack has degrades quicker. (even if jepack-blam!-s were easy to kill in reach)
-Only Ragnarok and Abandon have "secret" areas from use of jetpacks in halo 4 (lolreach and asylum, blood gulch, the cage, and other I forgot)
-Did not try to pass 1 map as 4-8 "new" maps in it's lifetime (forge world and it's derivatives in lolreach)

What a waste....

H4's Multiplayer is very fun. It's mostly well balanced aside from the Death Star -- I mean, DMR. People are right when they say it feels like Halo... it does. But there's no heart to it. It can be fun, but there is no, shall we say, Fort Knox. The money is where the mouth is, but the money is counterfeit. It just feels... wrong.

Halo Reach was actually overall pretty balanced. There were issues, like the banshee and such, but there was a soul to it.

Another thing--Halo 4 had no innovation in terms of Forge. In fact, other than magnets, all that was done was remove Forge World.

Which was, needless to say, a horrible idea.

Reach has the same Forge as 4, yes; but at least it innovated. It did not mimic.

The file share in H4 is broken as hell. Reach was not.

Halo4 has barely any custom games. Reach had many.

REACH WINS.

Reach, definitely. It was a good game, I played it for two years before getting fully bored of it.

I'm well bored of Halo 4.

I agree. Yes Reach had a few issues but I played it from launch all the way until H4, and I had a blast. You know what I'm going to fire it up now, it's a good idea that.

Really? I never had the same connection with Reach as I did with H3 but I still liked it a lot.

Genuine question here; Do you play Halo 4 and are you enjoying it?

  • 12.12.2012 8:51 PM PDT

Halo 4 has a great and fresh multiplayer, but it wears off too quickly. Reach actually kept me playing for two years. I'm already getting kinda bored of Halo 4.

And the only reason why I stopped playing Reach was because 343 removed most of my favorite playlists. If not for that, I'd be back on it already.

Yes, I still play it. Yes, I still enjoy it; because, IMO the issues I had with reach are gone in 4 (see my very first post in this thread.). That doesn't mean it doesn't have it's fair share of problems, but it certainly doesn't break the game for me.
