The fact some people are against gun control is worrying.
Why?
What good do they do?

Don't bring up the self defense argument, every other country gets by fine without guns.
What is gun control supposed to do?
Stop the countless shootings that go on in the US?

Because America isn't every other country and America doesn't (or shouldn't) answer to any other country
I was using that as an example. If every other country can do it, the US can.

There is no real argument against gun control.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

What is taking them away going to do? The people who want them will either get them illegally/create their own/use other means.

You people make it seem like everyone who owns a gun is going to go crazy and kill everyone else.

Taking them away would make it harder to get guns by other means. Again, it's extremely hard to get guns in every other country. It would also stop the countless shootings that go on over there.

This is where I think America is retarded. Gun control can mean a lot of things. It does not always mean taking away guns.

It could mean.

>proper registration/Renew registration procedure
>required minimal training
>Mental exam every length of time/background checks
>Required storage (Must have a receipt of a gun locker)

Basically it means locking guns down so retards dont get them. My point is in some states it is harder to get a car then it is a gun leagally.
I didn't realize having a car was a constitutional right.

You mean the same bill of rights that were made at a time where it could take authorities days to reach an emergency? Comeon man times have changed. The necessity of untrained people to own and carry guns has reduced. At this point that bill has caused more trouble.

Or humans can be less violent. What is so bad about their life that they have to go a store and shoot someone?

Not counting 3rd world countries that may he true, but they also have different cultures with different life styles that make them different. Like say China, they have a dictator who rules them and they scrape by, Switzerland every citizen is required to own guns and they have the lowest gun crime in the world. Britain may have less gun crime but they have a sixth the population and about 2,000 more stabbings a year than we have shootings so 14,000 total.

All i need is the second amendment and why it was constructed that way

But, lets say this:
*Family is in your room
*There is a person in your house with a gun trying to kill you and your family for some unknown reason
*Gun control laws were taken affect 2 years ago, no law abiding citizen has a gun anymore
*You already called the Cops but they won't be there for atleast 15-30 mins depending on how far away they are
*The gunman has entered your room.

What do you do.

Now take the same scenario, and put in that you have a gun.

I would be more worried about knives and blunt weapons in this scenario, guns are loud, knives aren't.

My point is that you can't change the fundamental natures of self preservation and competition.

But people with guns feel the need to go out and use them. Like all the time.

Teabag twin #1 is here to kick ass and chew gum. And I'm all out of gum.

I'm Australian and I can completely understand the reasoning behind Americans owning guns.

I do think it is too late to ever make them illegal though. There are so many guns in America already regulating them would be a nightmare, most likely creating more organised crime. Similar to Prohibition in the 1920's.

As an American gun owner myself I fully agree that some measure of gun control is absolutely necessary. I believe the current system is effective in preventing guns from being purchased by those who would be most likely to use them for crimes, but there can never be a perfect system. There is absolutely nothing any government can do to fully prevent someone with negative intentions from accessing a gun, and that's just the way things are. Throw this in with the fact that pretty much all crimes involving guns are carried out by criminals (who aren't very keen to abiding by laws), and any gun laws which take away or restrict our right to bear arms would ultimately only hurt the law abiding citizens who legally carry/own.

I fully agree anyone who wishes to purchase a gun should be required to undergo training. I've seen too many people purchase guns and be completely lost trying to use them.

The thought of shooting someone has never once crossed my mind. Shooting up a mall is competition? Who are they competing with?

A question, is it a matter of the number of deaths or the method by which death occurred that matters? No pussyfooting around this question, pick one or the other please.

They own guns because it's so common for someone to break into your house. Crime is so serious that it's kinda laughable.

And people would just kill with other tools, nothing is accomplished other than making it harder for the victims to defend themselves.

And all you need to make a makeshift shotgun is two pipes and a nail; literally anyone can do that.

Lol Media!
