The sadness and frustration
And let it go

Did anyone got the chance to play this game yet? It's out in closed beta right now. If not, have you heard about it before, and are you excited for it?

If you've never heard about it, Firefall is a free-to-play MMOFPS for PC currently under development by Red 5 Studios, based approximately 200 years in the future after humanity suffered a series of major catastrophic events, one being a massive meteor shower known as the Firefall, and the other being a more recent event, an energy storm unleashed by humanity's first attempt to FTL travel, a wall of death called The Melding, which almost covered the whole planet.

The beta takes place in a "small" 10 square mile area in Brazil, around the crashed Arclight, the ship that crashed to Earth after its failed FTL jump, and the only place on Earth not consumed by energy storms. You start off as a soldier of The Accord. Being in the future, everyone runs around in high-tech exosuits called Battleframes. These frames come in severalclasses, and even the lightest frame, Recon, weighs more than 5 metric tons. They include Recon, Biotech, Assault, Engineer, and Dreadnought. In the game, you mine for resources to upgrade your frame, hold back The Melding, and fight The Chosen, interdimensional beings who came from the energy storms to wipe out the last of the human race.

Screenshots and stuff!

Some of the scenery.

More scenery, also third-person view.

The crashed Arclight off the coast.

A Chosen outpost.

The Melding, the energy storm that engulfed the rest of the planet.

My Battleframe, Recon class.

So, that's it. The game is absolutely fantastic, I urge you to make an account on the site so that you can possibly get a chance to get in too! Also, I do have one beta key that I can give to one other person... >.>

My Battleframe, Recon class.

dat ass

OT: I plan on downloading it sometime when it releases. Hopefully it won't be as processor intensive as Planetside 2, since mine is pretty -blam!-. If its not then I'll be in luck.

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

Too bad that my all computer can handle is roughly a word processor, as this looks really interesting.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

What is the minimum requirements for this?

actually they have masks.

Great game by the way, wasn't aware of the full story behind it (the crash, anyway) so thanks for that.

Like other people said, it has tiki masks. However, there are some funny hats, one of which includes a turkey hat.

I was interested but then planetside 2 released.

I used to like Planetside 2, then I realized that it was a pay-to-win. That's what I like about Firefall, the devs are making sure it doesn't become one of those.
Firefall is an AAA game that is completely free to play. You can play and access all the core features of the game absolutely free when the game launches. What is more, Firefall is Free-2-Play and never Pay-2-Win. We offer convenience, time savers, utility and cosmetics in our item store but we will not sell or rent weapons, or anything that affects the balance of the game.

I laughed. Even if you pay, you only get aesthetic items, or regular unlocks. Most of the gear isn't overpowered, and in the end, even if you pay, you'll still get your ass handed to you by more skilled players. I've been running around, without paying, still whooping ass with the default weapons.

Can't tell that to me after all the aircraft flying around with $10 rocket pods. And it depends wah tcalss you play as. For some (ie. NC Assault Trooper) the starting weapons are far superior, but for others (ie. NC Infiltator, also known as me) the default weapons suck, and it's a grind to get anything better.

The default weapons are pretty much the best in the game if you upgrade them, and even then the only things you pay for can be unlocked for certs.
Also "time savers" and "utility" could be anything. Like something that lets you travel at 10x speed or fast travel which could be considered an advantage.

That said the game looks real cool, but that skinny ass suit weighing 5 Mtonnes?

That would crush a normal British person, weighing in at 0.0698532 Mtonnes, average! Unless the average person in FF is built like a COG soldier lol

Do you even TR infiltrator?
The NC has the best default kit for infiltrator.
