Wait, so I'm the only one that substitutes alcohol for water?

Washing your mouth out after brushing your teeth with alcohol what is wrong with you?

Isn't that basically what mouth wash is?

Though I don't know why anyone would waste a perfectly good bottle of liquor for that.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

it depends on where you live. Where I live the unfiltered tap water is very good, but when I go to hawaii i drink bottled since the tap water is literally yellow from sulfur.

Unless your water is contaminated like that bottled water is a huge waste though. If you live in a city the chances of anything harmful actually being in the water is nil.

My Dad actually got sick from drinking out of the tap water that is why we buy bottled water, now.

The human element always mucks things up.

You should be applauding the brilliance of whoever thought about selling somebody bottled water.

More or less yes, but still that just seems like a terrible idea. I can't imagine how bad it would taste.

It's a waste of money... best to just invest in a water filter and refill bottles.

This.

The markup on bottled water is like 8000%. It's ridiculous.

The only way I see bottled water being good is if you have a few crates stocked up in case of Hurricane or some other natural disaster. Even then, a few large barrels/jugs filled with tap water is far cheaper.

If I'm in the middle of a desert, dying of dehydration, I'm not really gonna care what my water is coming out of, tap or bottle.

Unless the nearest source of water gives you an intestinal infection, and you spend your last days crapping blood.

Would not be a fun way to go.

Brita Filters + Liberal application of bottled water = Healthier than drinking straight from the tap while not nearly as expensive as drinking only bottled water.

By the way, people have died drinking from tap water. Capitalism says to corporations "Sometimes, dumping chemicals in the water supply is a controlled risk that can be more economical than properly disposing of them". There have been numerous accounts of this sort of thing... what, did you think a lot of those lawyer movies about fighting for communities against corporations was just silly hippie propaganda?

I freaking love my Brita filter. I drink way more water now because of it than I used to, tastes so clean. Also, you stop craving pop and such after regularly drinking a lot of water.

You're gonna regret that whole rant next time you're in Mexico and you pass up bottled water for regular water.

Ah but I said tap or bottle. Bear Grylls all taught us that drinking our own urine is also a viable option.

I live in NZ so my tap water is beautiful and clean. I had tap water in the States about a year ago and it tasted like complete -blam!-, so I don't really blame Yanks for opting for bottled water.

OP you know there is Iron in tap water right? And you know that forms Kidney stones right?

And you know people say Kidney stones are worse then childbirth....right?

Please read the entire post.
I think it was addressed in one of the replies at the bottom of my OP.

Related, big time.

^Yes, you're getting tap water from somewhere else. The implication I guess is tap water is exactly the same everywhere, and all contains heavy metals and bacteria, when the show admits only 1/3 of bottled water products contained those elements. Yes, that is a surprising statistic for sure, but that's consumer ignorance in buying phony products, not that there aren't bottled water products that do have better purity.

This sort of thing is great evidence for why regulatory bodies exist in the first place. A lot of right-wings say that consumers will look out for themselves... but they don't. They trust that the products that get are what they think they're getting, and if they aren't, that they can sue someone. Too bad for them when they fall into the gap where the corporation isn't legally doing anything wrong and yet the consumer isn't getting what he/she thinks they're getting.

I don't think you know what kidney stones are.
Don't know where I got iron from but yeah I was wrong. Hard water CAN increase your kidney stone chances through. You don't take chances with kidney stones.

Hard water is tested for, even you can test for it at home. Just add soap/detergent to a glass of water and if it doesn't foam it means that there are too high levels of Mg2+ and Ca2+ in your tap water.
