Hey guys.

I'm sure this has been posted at some point in the last week, but I wanted to remind you all since it's getting to be very imminent.

The Geminid meteor shower will be starting tomorrow night. Early traces of meteors may be visible later tonight as well, but the peak of it will be on Thursday night (the night of the 13th) after your local midnight (technically, the 14th).

If all goes well weather-wise, you should be able to see over 100 meteors per hour all night long in the eastern sky.

Look here for more info including a handy guide to viewing meteor showers.

Per audacia [spectare] ad astra... or something. : )

ooga booga boooh

I'm back home on the farm, maybe I'll go and see if I spot anything outside. I used to watch meteor showers as a kid whenever possible with my friends.

Don't suppose England has any chance of seeing anything?

Absolutely. This is one of the largest regularly occurring meteor showers on earth! And the lunar cycle lines up perfectly this year to give us a new moon and a dark sky to watch the show.

Now, I dont know if you'll be able to see it through the sickly glow of Time Square, but if you get a bit out of the city you should be able to see some of it. (and, of course... the weather needs to cooperate)

Depends where you are, really... According to this, it's going to be quite cloudy in most areas... Nice view from Ireland, though. :)

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

First day on my new job (night crew), and I'm going to miss this. Maybe I'll go outside on my break. Hopefully it's not too cold.

Always love a good meteor shower. My area rarely gets to see the Geminids due to crappy Northwest rainy winter weather, so I usually just have to settle for the August Perseids as the big show of the year. Sadly, this winter isn't looking any different for me.

Oh, hey.. and look at that! There are actually TWO meteor showers tonight! The earlier one hasn't been seen since its discovery in 1948.

(also, bumped for Europe. Show should be starting soon-ish)
