When I ask somebody what date today is they'll say "december 12th" not the "the 12 of december."
Therefor Month/Day/Year is infinitely better.
They are also talking in a standard of English I'd expect of a four year old whose second language was English.
"December 12th"...... How hard is it to throw in the word 'the'?

If you ask me,
December 12th sounds much better than 12 December. Therefore, I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Europe says December 12th too, what kind of idiot says 12 December?
Its much more common for me to simply say "The 12th" than include the month at all. Its rare people don't know the month, and if it relates to something like an appointment I have scheduled for some time in the future I would then say "Its in December" because I can be vague about it.
Hahah funny thing is that I just edited it to say "the 12th".
xD
