I like most people had been complaining about not getting a code to my email. I decided to check xbox.com and select contact preferences and the email it showed was not the email associated with the account. It was an old one.
So I signed in on that old account and saw that the email was there instead. I did not change my email during november or anything so it must have been a weird glitch. I also did not agree to any marketing stuff either. So clearly somehow maybe 2 of my accounts got tangled up or something. Id recommend checking the contact preferences and seeing the email thats prefilled in their. Then check that email for the specialization code.
Thats what worked for me.
