Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

So me and my friend are having a debate on the way to word these two sentences.

I wrote this: In todays society stereotypical driven jokes are not as widely accepted as before. This is because people are becoming more tolerant of others.

He thinks that I should change it to people are becoming less tolerant of others. ignore your personal beliefs did I word my sentence right?

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

Actually He hit it on the Head.

I really feel what is happening is people are being fooled/ Fooling themselves into thinking that Calling some intolerant makes them intolerant, all because that person has an opposing belief or opinion.

The hilarious thing is it actually makes the person calling the other the one who is intolerant.

If they're not as widely as accepted as before wouldn't that show people are becoming less tolerant? Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Societies tolerance on certain groups of people isnt related to the tolerance of stereotypes.
At least from what ive seen.

Stereotypes exist for a reason, because its a common trait a group shares.

Im tolerant of asians, but bloody hell are they pathetic drivers. My view on their bad driving skills doesnt affect the way i tolerate them.

my friend says thank you and that you are 110% correct. My point is that people are becoming more tolerant of peoples beliefs and feelings so stereotypical jokes such as -blam!- jokes aren't as accepted anymore

I don't think that people are becoming more tolerant of others so much as politically correct behavior is being imposed on everybody. Behind the forced behavior, people are still pretty intolerant.

I think it also has to do with how quick people are to file lawsuits/take action against one another over any minute reason nowadays. Racists might hate black people, but they know if they utter a word of it, it'll end up on Youtube and some action will be taken (such as a job being lost).

I may be wrong but it looks like either the word "driven" or "stereotypical" have been misused.

OT - Tolerant is correct.
