Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…
That's not the point. Having an all powerful, impossible to fight being just suddenly appear in Halo when there have been no other such gravity manipulation mechanics presented or even referenced to at any point in any Halo game is stupid. It's -blam!- Darth Vader in Halo with no motivation except to just be a dick. I guarantee that at least 80% of the Halo players have any idea who or what the hell the Didact is since he's only been mentioned in the books, anyway. Cortana and Chief also know what they're looking at when they see him, despite no reference to him in any of the Halo games with Chief and Cortona. No explanation or anything, just "Whelp, that's a Diadu- OH -blam!-, DARTH VADER'S IN HALO!!!"
I see what your saying here. I didn't read any of the forerunner saga books but I read the originals like Fall of Reach and First Strike and The Flood and understood how all those linked to the game. But after Halo 4 was announced to be based on the forerunner saga I was pissed. I believe that the forerunner should have been almost like and introduction into the halo universe an saga d forerunners not a cash cow extension for a new developer.
