Subject: Isreal opens fire on civilians and activists

OP if you want to hate on Israel just link the story about the 17 year old who got shot 6 times for carrying a "fake" unspecific gun.

Or just link the casualty rates this year alone in rocket attacks. Isn't it like 3 for 69?

Totally defending themselves.

*Makes assumption with a nation that is trigger happy because it has been bombed by rockets regularly by a terrorist organization living on it's borders and doesn't expect to get shot.*

-blam!- morons.

Or the alternative: They are Hamas plants designed to try and show how "evil" Israel is.

Going off the story alone, it is indeed unfortunate. But it is essentially the same as a US policeman shooting someone who pulls a gun on him. It is for self defense. The story clearly says the incident happened at night, in a hostile area, and the 17 year old pulled out a fake gun. Assuming the Israelis were not within a few feet of him, which I highly doubt they were given the circumstances, I can easily see how they could mistake the action and fake gun to be hostile and very real.

I see this as just a way to criminalize and create hate against the Israeli border forces for something that would've been done by pretty much any police force in the world to someone who showed hostile intent.

I'm not defending anyone, just looking at the story from my own point of view.

There's a difference. Hamas puts their mortars in schools and hospitals, and uses those places to house armaments and soldiers. Israel uses precision strikes. Casualties are roughly equal, with a higher number of injured civilians in Israel than Hamas. A key difference here is that Israel's government spends millions on missile defense to protect its citizens, while Hamas purposefully puts its citizens in harm's way to protect their military.

This difference is wasted on most people online. I've come to realize that people hate on Israel because its become fashionable to do so. They are seen as the big meanies, and the Palestinians as the little kid trying to stand up for themselves. Never mind the real history of the area.

How on Earth could they not know about it if it's been that way for 13 years, and Israel apparently regularly bulldozes the area and patrols it.

Yes they're innocent, which is why nobody was hurt.

Exactly, for 13 years Israel have been encroaching on Palestinian land, wouldn't be surprised if that fence suspiciously jumps forward a few metres every year completely of its own accord.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

That'll teach them, trying to be all peaceful and farmer like.

All I have to look at is Arab Peace initiative which first came about in 2002 and the radicalization of the Israeli government to make up my mind that the Israeli's are in the wrong.

Not for one moment will I believe that Israel is the innocent nation when they are the only nation to be occupying land which according to the UN belongs to other nations.

Feel free to try and convince me otherwise.

Nobody is innocent in this situation.

Israel is in the wrong if they are encroaching on land that isn't there's.

Palestine is wrong for supporting Hamas and firing rockets wildly into Israel.

Israel and Palestine are like brothers that fight all the time. Israel is the much tougher older brother, so Palestine gets hurt a lot. Because of this, the media (their mother) favors Palestine and tries to protect him, so Israel always gets in trouble.

One day, Big Brother Israel was in his room, minding his own business, playing Xbox when Little Brother Palestine ran in and shut off the Xbox, trashed the room, and blew a raspberry in Big Brother Israel's face. Big Brother Israel got mad and, by impulse, punched Little Brother Palestine in the face. Little Brother Palestine ran to cry to Mama Media. Big Brother Israel tried to explain, but Mama Media didn't want to hear it and immediately grounded him.

And that's the Israel-Palestine conflict in a nutshell.

There's no "good guy" in this scenario. We're beyond the point of easy black-and-white scenarios. The territory is disputed, not occupied, and there would be no problem had Arabs agreed to the UN resolution that created two separate states...a legal treaty that included the consent of the people that controlled the land at the time...the British. Instead, the Arabs attacked Israel and lost. Currently the territory has no official ownership.

Lol ''Arab peace initiative''.

It's pretty much about crying back the lands they lost in the wars they started in order to annihilate the entire state of Israel.

Also, I like how this was about civilian casulties in the current Gaza conflict, and when you were told why there are more casulties on the palestinian side, you responded by babbling about this initiative.
