Subject: 343i's bulletin didn't mention any improvements

Fair play

I don't know about you guys, but not mentioning public issues with your game and your plans on fixing them is unacceptable.

343i should look at Treyarch as an example.

What do you think about this?

The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

They do that in their Monday matchmaking update posts, not the bulletin.

Because Bungie always did that.
And they do it btw, just not on the bulletin.

Bungie's weekly bulletins became like drugs to me when Reach came out. I was constantly sucking all it's content in my brain hoping that they'll eventually fix all the issues. Sadly, it didn't happen.

Urk even admitted it in the end that they weren't able to handle the community anymore.

Might have something to do with the community's in-ability to use common sense.

I've got a fan!

Yes, posting their flaws and in-game problems on the front page of their website is exactly what an up-and-coming developer like 343i needs to do.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I hope Destiny comes and it is superior to Halo

Yes what they need to do is that if they want to keep what original halo fan base is that. Or at the very least take the pants off of their head and make better matchmaking choices.

  • 12.13.2012 11:15 AM PDT

Bones of my enemies.

343 is dumb as balls when it comes to the community. Or when it comes to anything for that matter...

They don't even know their game is broken.

There are zero benefits from showboating their flaws, especially when most of them are completely subjective. There's no reason to make a front-page post about why their playlists suck when apparently hundreds of thousands of people still enjoy them. The vocal minority of fans do not get to have their complaints catered to.

  • 12.13.2012 11:32 AM PDT

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

With Halo's current state and direction it's taking, I'm sure it will be superior to Halo.

Because the competetive community is a vocal minority? What happened to the population from halo 3s prime of 300,000 on at one time? The stats are there halo 4 flopped worse than reach did. It becomes very interesting when known icons in communities forge/Mlg/ btb.net all state halo 4 Is disasapointing. And it's pretty hard to argue halo 4 is now based on luck not skill because of ordinances and that is a fact. You're throwing out numbers but I'll put it into perspective team deathmatch in codbo2 has more of a population than the entire game.

I'm confused as to what you think advertising the game's problems will do to make the game more popular. Will their honesty suddenly make you forget that you don't enjoy the game and inspire you to go play a few rounds of War Games?

  • 12.13.2012 11:42 AM PDT

I believe that Halo was always ¨the game¨ for competition.

Now that 343i made it on COD's simplicity level, people that once loved it left.

343i was ignorant to think that they'll get a bigger community by attracting COD's casuals that never gave a -blam!- about Halo.

Look at how the population is dwindling.

I'm getting tired of reading how 343i screw things over again and again.

Then don't read it. There are many other topics on the front page, and a handful of pages to sift through that wouldn't be considered necrobumping.

Popping into these threads and complaining about the contents is like sticking your head in a septic tank and being offended that it smells like -blam!-. I have no idea what you people were expecting to see.

That and the turret, saw, and assault rifle. How can this game be remotely competitive and thats not even in matchmaking. Core mechanics that are terrible. wow
