Technically not signed, however its being reported that the Angels and him have agreed to a deal.

MLB for people who don't know. I was hoping Seattle could get him, although after Zack Grenike signed with the Dodgers all hope of that was lost. Or he would of at least stayed with Texas.

Discuss how the AL West is now going to be dominated by the Angels.

Also, where do you guys see Nick Siwsher or Michael Bourne going?

I doubt one good player can change a mediocre team to dominate.

They still have Albert Pujols who I just can't see slumping again this year.

As well as Mike Trout, the Angels are stacked dude.

Woah, for a second I thought you meant the Dodgers so I was like holy -blam!-. In other news, my favorite team looks to have buried themselves in -blam!- over the last couple years.

  • 12.13.2012 1:54 PM PDT

They added superstar players last year and were still mediocre. Why would adding Hamilton suddenly make them dominant? I obviously think this move improves the team and now they will have a better chance at making the playoffs. They will be far from dominant though.

Bourn to the phillies.
Swisher to the Indians.

Also, Dodgers > Angels

He's not wrong. They're the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...dumbest team name in history.

Hamilton is great, but we need pitchers.

I don't think Seattle ever really had a chamce at getting him. They'd report they did of course, but why would a premiere superstar want to go to one of the worst teams in the game who won't even be a real challenger until darn near the end of his contract anyway? He would have no lineup protection and he wouldn't be a difference maker anyway. With Texas he would be as he always was and with LAA, he's got a lot of protection with trout in front and Pujols behind.

As far as Swisher, Im betting either Texas or back to NYY and I'm thinking Bourn is probably going to end up in Texas.

Hanson
Blanton.

True. I was hoping to see him sign in Seattle mainly so they could use him for protection of some of the younger guys lol. Maybe Montero would learn to hit RHP then and while this is just wishful thinking, Justin Smoak might find some power.

I do see Texas probably getting either Swisher or Bourn to replace Hamilton though.

Yup. Now if only my lakers could get their act together I would be a happy guy. There's no hope for my raiders this season though except for improving our draft position.

Seattle would never sign a 5 year, $125 mil contract to offer protection to young players. That's probably more than the rest of the team combined makes plus coaches.

They may get one of those two or both, but you do not simply replace that sort of player.

Josh Hamilton is an outfielder that the Angels just acquired from Texas.

I didn't see Seattle giving him a 5 year deal. Repotedly no teams other than the Rangers were willing to do that. Assuming the Rangers had signed Zack Greinke I could of seen Hamilton going to another team for a smaller contract.

However, when the Dodgers signed Greinke it was pretty much going to be a 5 year deal. Just thought the Rangers would give him it and not the Angels.
