Remember,
It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

Try The Name of the Wind.

"It is the cruelest fate, to have written words that meant well and see them made wicked and unwise. What was meant to encourage life, used instead to justify taking it."

The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion (I'd suggest reading in that order).

A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. Takes a while to read (five books averaging about 1000 pages each, with two more books of about 1200 pages coming in the future), but it is really worth it.

Haha all good, it's a good enough series to deserve two recommendations.

Any PM's (about my armor) sent over Bungie.net or Friend Requests (for my armor) over Live will be unanswered/declined. Sorry! All you need to know is that I was given my armor because I fulfilled one of the secret requirements for Bungie Day 09. I am a pre-owner of Recon!

Lord of the Rings
A Song of Ice and Fire

But it seems like people have already posted these :P

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

A Song of Ice and Fire.

But god, G.R.R.M. just can't seem to spit them out fast enough for me to get my fill of them.

I went outside today. The graphics were AMAZING. The gameplay WASN"T.

Maybe I should cry for help
Maybe I should kill myself
Blame it on my ADD baby

This by far.

One of the few fantasy series I couldn't put down. Took 2 weeks of my life to finish them, but was totally worth it.

I really wouldn't recommend the LoTR series, they were a massive let down to me. The Hobbit was an ok, although short read.

Now that he's working on the show, it is going to take him even longer to finish writing them.

Wheel of Time

Good -blam!- right there, and a long as hell series that gives plenty of time for character development.

The Secret Society 95% of activity is me, I could use some help.

Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. Actually pretty awesome for a book series about a bunch of owls. One of my favorites.

Signatures are for little kids.

The Engineer Trilogy by K.J. Parker.

I used to be on the 'Song of ice and fire' Martin bandwagon too. I remember when the first book originaly came out it was going to be a trilogy. I've lost faith that he knows how to end it, my favoirite characters are long dead and when someone is introducing new characters in the 3rd book of a series I can't be bothered anymore. I already have lots of books to read without wasting time on some guy who made quite a good story into an overblown mess (IMO).

My brother is like that, just keeps re-reading them and always stating it's the best series ever written.

Sadly, he's probably read less than 20 books in his life so it's hard to take him seriously.
